Karl Urban is the law, but you don't have to take our word for it — just look at the man and judge him for yourself!
When the actor spoke earlier this year about his desire to keep Judge Dredd's helmet firmly in place throughout the entire run time of director Peter Travis' upcoming "Dredd" adaptation, it appears he was quite serious: the very first official photograph from the set of "Dredd" has premiered online over at 2000AD, and as you can see, that helmet is most certainly there.

According to 2000AD, the photo was taken from rehearsals for "Dredd," which is currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa. Urban stars as the one-man judge, jury and executioner, with Olivia Thirlby co-starring as trainee Cassandra Anderson. Alex Garland wrote the screenplay.
Earlier this year, when Urban was asked whether or not he was nervous about wearing Judge Dredd's iconic helmet throughout the entire movie, he replied: "You're taught as an actor that if you take away the eyes you have to think about what you're left with ... there's the voice; there's body language. How a character does what he does speaks volumes. So those are the tools I will have to employ."
Indeed, the "Red" actor said that the previous Sylvester Stallone-starring adaptation missed an opportunity by removing Dredd's helmet: "As soon as he took his helmet off the enigma was blown. Our film is going to be darker in tone, and we've got the benefit of modern filmmaking and technology to help us."
So far, so good, it seems!
