The race to find the next Man of Steel is officially on, but is it possible that director Zack Snyder has already found his Clark Kent? That's the case according to a new rumor that pegs British actor Matthew Goode as the front-runner for the role!
Movie Newz reports the rumor of Goode's possible casting, and if there's any truth to the news — and that's a big if at this point — then the actor's involvement would signal something of a "Watchmen" reunion; Goode famously played Adrian "Ozymandias" Veidt in Snyder's adaptation of the classic graphic novel in 2009.
Having already worked with Snyder, on a comic book movie no less, Goode's chances seem better than others when it comes to "Superman." But he's not exactly the most muscular actor in Hollywood, begging the question: does Goode have what it takes to physically embody the Man of Steel? Read more...

When Grant Morrison teased that his character Korse would continue to haunt My Chemical Romance in new videos for their recently released album "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys," he certainly wasn't kidding.
Indeed, Korse is already back in action in a brand new music video titled "Sing," and just like the video for "Na Na Na," My Chemical Romance fans are in for a science fiction ride of epic proportions.
In "Na Na Na," Korse managed to get the upper hand on our heroes, the titular Killjoys — a group that consists of Party Poison, Jet Star, Fun Ghoul and Kobra Kid. But when "Sing" begins, the Killjoys have rebounded from their loss at the hands of Korse, leading them on a daring rescue mission to save a young child and flee this highly protected facility with their lives intact. But Korse has other plans... Read more...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" die-hards have mostly been in revolt for the last day or so on Twitter, and they've been just as vocal from within the comics community. Marc Bernardin and Ron Marz both chimed in on the subject, and Erik Larsen attempted to be the voice of reason.
Elsewhere, Brian Michael Bendis revealed that he's contributing to the next generation of comic book movie critics, thanks to a screening of Richard Donner's "Superman." Check out where the Bendis household stands on that subject, as well as what Mark Millar recommends for DC's Flash movie.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for November 23, 2010. Read more...

When Tom Hardy was recruited for Christopher Nolan's next go-around with Batman, "The Dark Knight Rises," we were quick to suggest a few possible roles for the "Inception" actor.
MTV News recently sat down with Bruce Wayne himself, Christian Bale, to get his take on Hardy joining the cast, and whether this truly is the last film in Bale and Nolan's franchise.
"Sounds good," Bale told MTV News when asked if he was excited about facing off against Hardy. "I liked him in 'Inception' and I did see 'Bronson' as well. He seems like he's a balls-out actor." Read more...

If you're wondering why "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky was hired to tackle "The Wolverine" for 20th Century Fox, wonder no more.
Aronofsky himself has broken his silence on the "Wolverine" front in an extensive interview with Movie City News. According to the filmmaker, his reasons for choosing the "Wolverine" non-sequel as his next project are quite simple: in the end, he just wanted to have a good time.
"I'm just trying to have fun," he said. "I think, for the first time in my life, you know, every single film that I've done so far I've been the only person in the room who wants to make the movie. And, I kind of am excited about doing a film where actually everyone wants to make it just to see what the experience is like and to see if I can do what I do in that world." Read more...

It’s no surprise to comic fans that Hollywood movers and shakers saw big potential in “Locke & Key” as a television series rather than a motion picture. Fox network already granted its brewing adaptation a pilot in the hope of touting it as a summer series, and now they've given DW Publishing’s still-unwinding supernatural thriller another vote of confidence by landing a director and star.
As reported by Deadline, director Mark Romanek is in negotiations to make his TV debut with the project. Romanek, who emerged directing striking music videos for acts like Nine Inch Nails and Michael Jackson among others, also has to his credit the films “One Hour Photo” and this year’s “Never Let Me Go”.
Seemingly more set in stone is the news that actress Miranda Otto ("The Lord Of The Rings") will headline the cast as Nina Locke, mother of children Tyler, Kinsey and Bode, who—following the murder of their father—move to Lovecraft, Massachusetts and into Keyhouse, a mansion filled with doors to different worlds that grant the siblings unusual powers. You've likely heard the controversial news by now that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator Joss Whedon won't be involved in his beloved creation's forthcoming theatrical reboot. Instead, rookie screenwriter Whit Anderson will tackle the screenplay for the reboot, with Warner Bros. moving on without Whedon's oversight.
To say that "Buffy" fans are a bit upset about Whedon's absence is certainly an understatement, and the "Buffy" creator himself isn't too thrilled either.
In an open letter to E! Online, Whedon wrote that he's so mixed up about the news that he's going to turn his sights to a different franchise altogether: none other than the Caped Crusader himself, Batman! Read more...

Still more than a year away from the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises," Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie, there's not a lot we know for certain about the project at this point. We know Christian Bale will be back as Bruce Wayne, we know the title isn't "Batman 3" (as we'd been calling it), we know the Riddler won't be in it (but Tom Hardy probably will be), and we know it won't be filmed in 3-D.
And according to the film's star, he doesn't know much more than us when it comes to his next Batman adventure, either.
"If Chris maintains, then this will be the last one, and we have to up it," Bale told MTV News while promoting his new film "The Fighter." Read more...

Last week, "Doctor Who" fans on this side of the ocean were given the good news that this year's Christmas Special — aptly titled "A Christmas Carol" — will receive a December 25 airing on BBC America.
The special will provide the grand finale for a "Doctor Who" marathon that begins on midnight, December 24, and ends with the premiere of the Christmas Special at 9 PM Eastern. This weekend, BBC America released a brand new trailer for the special that shows just how much the adventure will have in common with the Charles Dickens classic that inspired its title.
Sporting the tagline "Christmastime Can Be Rewritten," the special is already looking like an instant holiday classic for "Doctor Who" fans. Read more...
