Karl UrbanKarl Urban is the law, but you don't have to take our word for it — just look at the man and judge him for yourself!

When the actor spoke earlier this year about his desire to keep Judge Dredd's helmet firmly in place throughout the entire run time of director Peter Travis' upcoming "Dredd" adaptation, it appears he was quite serious: the very first official photograph from the set of "Dredd" has premiered online over at 2000AD, and as you can see, that helmet is most certainly there.

You can check out the full photograph past the jump! Read more...

Wilson"The Wolverine" director Darren Aronofsky's decision to sign a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight isn't the only significant move that Fox is making in the comic book scene this week.

According to Deadline, an adaptation of Daniel Clowes' graphic novel "Wilson" is currently in development at Fox Searchlight with Alexander Payne being eyed as a potential director for the project. Payne's Ad Hominem is producing with Josh Donen on behalf of Sam Raimi's Star Road. Clowes himself is adapting "Wilson" for the big screen. Read more...

Grant MorrisonWe've seen him in action, now it's time to hear it from the man himself — who exactly is the mischievous villain that Grant Morrison is playing in My Chemical Romance's recent "Na Na Na" music video?

Speaking with The Los Angeles Times, Morrison has significantly pulled the curtain back on his devil-grinning character. The man is named Korse, apparently, and his still unrevealed backstory is "extensive" — and with Morrison's involvement, we'd expect nothing less.

"Korse is an exterminator for the S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W unit of Better Living Industries," the celebrated comic book writer turned actor revealed. "His extensive back story has yet to be revealed but he’s intimately connected with the Killjoys and their secret history. He’s a remorseless human bloodhound, a hunter who dresses like an undead, post-apocalyptic Doc Holliday." Read more...

Despite all the hype and hoopla surrounding the Marc Webb-directed "Spider-Man" reboot, a part of me is still sad about all that went down with Sam Raimi. Don't get me wrong, I'm intrigued by what Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will bring to the mix, but a large part of me won't let go of Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker — and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, for that matter.

When MTV News caught up with the former Ms. MJ recently to promote her new movie "All Good Things," I couldn't help but ask what her advice would be for the new Spidey leading lady, Emma Stone, as well as her thoughts on Sony moving on with the franchise without Raimi and Maguire.

"Get used to acting to nothing," advised Dunst, laughing. "[There is] a lot of that. Swinging, and acting to nothing." Read more...

AquamanAquaman returns to "Smallville" tonight, but actor Alan Ritchson has hinted that the long-running television series might not be the only place we'll see the live-action adventures of the king of the seas.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Ritchson said a live-action movie based on the DC superhero is not only more likely than a solo television series featuring the character, but he's heard an "Aquaman" movie is a very real possibility.

"A movie, on the other hand, I think is very much a reality. In fact, I think there's one in the works," said Ritchson. "Some people in LA are starting to get the ball rolling on that." Read more...

SupermanThe search is on for the next Superman, and a new report sheds a bit more light on the qualifications required to bring the Man of Steel back to the big screen.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros., producer Christopher Nolan, and director Zack Snyder are casting a "wide net" for an actor to play Superman in the upcoming reboot of the movie franchise. The report echoes many of the previous qualifications rumored for potential candidates, including the studio's willingness to go after an unknown or lesser-known actor, and an age range of 28-to-32.

The report also indicates that the studio is targeting a June 2011 start for production on the film due to the 2009 judgment that saw much of the rights to Superman revert back to creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster in 2013. The studio is also required to put a new film into production in 2011 in order to avoid owing profits to the Siegel and Schuster families. Read more...

doctor WhoSo here's an early holiday gift for "Doctor Who" fans: The annual "Doctor Who" Christmas Special will air on BBC America on Christmas Day this year instead of the normal week-or-two behind its initial BBC airing!

BBC America announced the Christmas Day airing this week, and offered up some details about this year's special, which will be penned by "Doctor Who" showrunner Steven Moffat and feature the expected trio of The Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy Pond, (Karen Gillan), and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill). They'll be joined by Michael Gambon ("Harry Potter") and opera singer Katherine Jenkins.

Along with revealing the title of the special — "A Christmas Carol" — Moffat promised that the special would feature "all your favorite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon. And ... oh, you'll see." Read more...

The WolverineAs if it wasn't already officially official, now it is officially official: 20th Century Fox has confirmed that Darren Aronofsky is directing "The Wolverine," the second solo movie starring Hugh Jackman as the claw-popping Canadian mutant.

If you're wondering why it took so long for Fox to confirm Aronofsky's involvement in the Marvel Comics adaptation, it appears that there's a perfectly good explanation.

According to a press release, Aronofsky and his Protozoa Pictures production company have agreed to a two-year overall deal with the studio, which sees Protozoa developing and producing films for 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures. Aronofsky's first priority, of course, is directing "The Wolverine," which heads into production in April next year. Read more...

Cowboys and Aliens trailerI'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Alan Moore could not have cared less about the "Green Lantern" and "Cowboys and Aliens" trailers that premiered in time for his birthday this week, but a handful of creators in our feed cared enough about him to celebrate his birthday with posts. Gene Ha summed up the day's significance nicely.

As for Jon Favreau's new movie, the first clips to show up in public got a warm welcome broadly. There are some skeptics, though, and Kevin Colden was among them. Check out whose side you're on and photographic evidence of what could happen to you if you try drawing "Ant-Man and the Wasp" near Mike Norton.
