The first trailer has finally arrived for "Cowboys & Aliens," Jon Favreau's adaptation of the Platinum Studios comic of the same name (and really, why would you change that name), offering mainstream audiences a peek at some of the footage that wowed attendees at San Diego Comic-Con.

Featuring an all-star cast that includes Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, and Harrison Ford, the film follows a mysterious stranger who arrives in town with no memory of his past or the weird shackle on his wrist. When aliens attack the town, he discovers that he might hold the key to fighting them off — but only if he can get everyone inside the town (and outside) to work together. Read more...

Female Force: Angelina JolieBluewater comics' line of "Female Force" unauthorized biography comics have already chronicled the lives and careers of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres, Hillary Clinton, as well as authors like J.K. Rowling ("Harry Potter") and Stephenie Meyer ("Twilight") — so where do they turn next? Apparently, the answer is mega-star Angelina Jolie.

Promising to "fill in the blanks surrounding Jolie's life," the 32-page comic hits shelves in January and takes a slightly different approach to telling its subject's tale. According to Bluewater, the comic will explore Jolie's life through the perspective of several aid volunteers in Haiti.

"Female Force: Angelina Jolie" is written by Brent Sprecher with art from Nuno Nobre. You can check out one of the covers to the comic and the official solicit info below. Read more...

Green LanternNow that the first "Green Lantern" trailer is online, there's still quite a bit of time until the movie's June 2011 premiere. So, how about a little light reading to get you caught up with Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern universe?

When hardcore comics fans discuss their favorite Green Lantern stories, some of the first to come up include modern arcs like “The Sinestro Corps War,” “Rage of the Red Lanterns,” or the “Blackest Night” saga. However, while those are definitely great stories, they’re not necessarily the right entry point for people new to Hal Jordan's ring-wielding adventures.

That's why we've come up with a list of stories that can act as a crash course on pilot-turned-superhero Hal Jordan and the basics of the Green Lantern Corps, the group of intergalactic warriors who each wield a power ring fueled by willpower and imagination. Read more...

The official announcement of the "Young Justice" animated series first hit the wire back in April, with Cartoon Network revealing plans to kick off the animated series featuring a team of young heroes from the DC universe during the 2010-2011 season. During this year's New York Comic Con, fans got their first look at the series, courtesy of a six-minute extended trailer that debuted during the show.

If you weren't able to catch the trailer during NYCC, don't worry — because now you can watch it exclusively here on Splash Page.

Premiering on November 26 at 7 PM Eastern, "Young Justice" will begin with a one-hour adventure. Read more...

Green LanternThe "Green Lantern" trailer has finally arrived, and whether you loved it or hated it, it's bound to be a big talking point over the next few days.

Personally, I'm still on the fence about Hal Jordan's arrival on the big screen next year, eagerly anticipating that first piece of footage that blows me away like the first trailer for "Iron Man" or "Batman Begins." We all know how great a "Green Lantern" movie could be, so the bar is set pretty high for Hal and the Green Lantern Corps.

However, that doesn't mean the first full "Green Lantern" trailer was lacking some impressive moments — quite the contrary, in fact.

Here are my five favorite moments from the new "Green Lantern" trailer, which you can watch in high-def at iTunes. In fact, if you haven't watched it yet, head on over there and see it for yourself, then come back and join the discussion. It's more fun that way. Read more...

It seems like just yesterday we were speculating about who should play Hal Jordan in a live-action "Green Lantern" movie, and now the first "Green Lantern" trailer featuring Ryan Reynolds as the ring-wielding superhero has finally arrived.

So what do you think of it?

Did you like what you saw of Reynolds in action as Hal Jordan? Were you surprised by any elements of the look or tone of the film? What about the other Green Lanterns that appear in the trailer? Read more...

The first "Green Lantern" trailer has finally hit the 'net, and just as expected, it contains a lot of elements that should spark discussion among fans and newcomers alike.

Just about half the trailer focuses on Hal Jordan before he receives the ring from dying alien Abin Sur, but the second half manages to cram in our first good looks at Sinestro and Hector Hammond (played by Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard, respectively), as well as a brief shot of Tomar-Re and the planet Oa. Beatles iTunesBrits hogged all the headlines in today's trending Twitter Report topics. Steve Jobs and Apple got things rolling by announcing that they finally reached a deal to sell Beatles tracks and albums via iTunes, and the comics world's reaction seemed to be pretty in sync with the rest of the Internet. Elsewhere, Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton has been showing up all over the place, including the posts of Andy Diggle and Jock.

Check out how the news affected those two guys after the jump, where you can also find Phil Hester's advice for new "Firebreather" readers and a picture of what it looks like to paint with Guinness.

Grant MorrisonNot too long ago, I spoke to veteran comic book writer Grant Morrison about his upcoming movie "Sinatoro," a surreal, Hitchcock-influenced, psychedelic adventure that he's hard at work scripting.

After offering up all the details he could reveal about "Sinatoro," Morrison also shared a few updates on some of the other projects he's involved with these days, including the long-awaited adaptation of his "We3" miniseries, the recently announced "Joe The Barbarian" movie, and that mysterious BBC television series he's working on with "Push" director Paul McGuigan and actor Stephen Fry.

AfterburnGerard Butler isn't likely to reprise his role as King Leonidas for "Xerxes," director Zack Snyder's planned sequel to "300" — not unless he's appearing in a flashback, or as a zombie Spartan for that matter — but that doesn't mean that the Scottish actor is done swimming in the comic book pool.

According to Deadline, Butler is in talks with Relativity Media to star in "Afterburn," the production company's adaptation of the Red 5 Comics series created by Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood.

In addition to Butler's possible involvement, Relativity is reportedly looking to hire "Training Day" filmmaker Antoine Fuqua to fill out the director's chair. Read more...
