Men in BlackThere's nothing easy about spending every waking hour of every single day running around hunting aliens and monitoring their everyday activities — sometimes, employees of the MIB agency simply need a break.

To that end, the production team responsible for "Men in Black 3" is about to get some time off. The Los Angeles Times reports that shooting on the long developing "Men in Black" threequel is finally set to commence in New York City today, but there's a catch — the production will take a nearly two-month hiatus once it wraps for the holidays.

According to the report, the current plan is to shoot "Men in Black" through the week of Christmas before shutting down until the middle of February. But depending on who you believe, the reasons for the hiatus either stem from creative difficulties or the need to take advantage of New York State tax incentives. Read more...

The Walking DeadAMC has already given the green light for a second season of "The Walking Dead" after airing the first two episodes. Indeed, the show is performing extraordinarily well, drawing 5.3 million viewers during the series premiere, going down to 4.7 million for episode two before rising up again to 5.1 million with this past Sunday's third episode.

That's the good news. Here's the bad: it's very likely that following the conclusion of this six-episode first season, fans won't see any further zombie killing for almost a year.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that while a second season of "The Walking Dead" is a certainty, it's likely that year two wouldn't launch until next October. There are two apparent reasons for the possible decision -- with an emphasis on possible, since no official decisions regarding the show's schedule have been made just yet. Read more...

Guillermo del Toro"The Hulk" is officially returning to television, and thankfully, his small screen resurrection is in some very capable hands.

Deadline reports that "Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro and "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer David Eick are finalizing a deal to create the new "Hulk" series for ABC and Marvel TV. The series would follow Bruce Banner in his mid-twenties, a man who is "less reactive and more energized as the world is still his oyster." The character will transform into the big green meanie by way of a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI. Read more...

"The Walking Dead" is quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular original television series to premiere this year, but just as with any other program, the recipe for success requires more than just the right people in front of the camera and behind it. It also requires the right type of preparation from its cast and creative team.

Case in point: The "zombie school" created by makeup effects supervisor Greg Nicotero to train "The Walking Dead" actors in the finer points of becoming a shambling, flesh-hungry corpse.

"One thing I learned from George Romero years ago was, if you ever demonstrate something to a group of people, all 50 people will do the exact same thing," Nicotero told MTV News of the theory behind his three-day "zombie school" seminar. Read more...

SmallvilleLate last week, we posted some images from this week's "Smallville" episode, which will feature the return of actor Alan Ritchson as Aquaman. The CW released a pair of preview clips today that further tease the November 19 episode, "Patriot."

The first of the two clips offers a trailer-style preview of the episode, opening with a shot of Ritchson emerging from the ocean with Elena Satine, who plays Aquaman's wife, Mera. The second clip is a scene from the episode featuring Lois Lane (Erica Durance) and Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman) discussing the new "Vigilante Registration Act" and the new general in charge of executing it: Slade Wilson (played by Michael Hogan).

Of course, that last name should ring familiar to comics fans as the alter ego of one of DC's most dangerous mercenaries, Deathstroke. Read more...

Green LanternThose of you who stayed away from Splash Page over the weekend might not have noticed that an all-too-brief 30-second teaser of the "Green Lantern" trailer premiered online, with the full trailer set to debut on Tuesday, November 16 courtesy of Entertainment Tonight.

That's right — we got out first official glimpse of Hal Jordan transforming into the defender of Space Sector 2814, not to mention an official first look at Kilowog and our best sense yet of the movie's tone.

But there are a few things we didn't see in this first clip, of course — things that, quite frankly, should really be included in the full-length trailer if DC Entertainment wants to win over the crowd. After the jump, check out the five omissions we missed the most from the "Green Lantern" teaser! Read more...

The Walking Dead Episode 3Somewhere in Indiana, someone is probably walking around with Mark Waid's iPad, and he's none too thrilled about it. If you've been following his updates over the last 24 hours, you've been witness to an update roller coaster as the device was left on a plane, temporarily tracked, and then lost again. The Twitter Report hopes the culprit can still be brought to justice though.

And speaking of things walking around, the third episode of "The Walking Dead" ran on AMC last night. Mark Brooks appreciates everyone who held off on their tweets until it was over, while Kevin Mellon prefers to experience his zombie stories through a non-traditional medium. Find out if you're jealous after the jump, where you'll also see a reaction to "Megamind" and who gave the false impression to his followers that he went to see "Yo Gabba Gabba!" alone and was forced to explain himself.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for November 15, 2010. Read more...

Cowboys & AliensComic book movie fans are in for a treat next summer with the arrival of "Cowboys & Aliens" from "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau. Given the familiar filmmaker's involvement, not to mention an impressive cast that includes Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde — and, obviously, the film title itself — is there really anything else you need to know about the movie ahead of time?

The answer, if you're confused, is no — but that doesn't make the first official poster for "Cowboys & Aliens" any less awesome.

Yahoo Movies has posted the very first poster from "Cowboys & Aliens," depicting an old Western hero (Craig) with his back turned to us, a rifle in one hand and a mysterious glowing wrist-mounted weapon on his other arm. In short, it's a perfect picture of Wild West badassery. Read more...

Last we heard from the "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" team, director Julie Taymor was defending the recent delays that pushed the expensive musical's premiere back to January 2011. Today, we have a set of new images from the blockbuster production, including our first look at the design for Carnage, one of several Spidey villains appearing in the show.

Spider-Man musical

The latest issue of Vogue has the five images, which include a shot (embedded below) of Spider-Man (played by Reeve Carney) battling with Green Goblin (Patrick Page) while Mary Jane Watson (Jennifer Damiano) swoons, and our first look at the musical's version of Carnage. There's also an up-close shot of Spidey against a New York City backdrop (also embedded below), a picture of new villain Swiss Miss threatening Mary Jane, and a photo of Peter Parker out of costume with Mary Jane. "Congrats to Zack Snyder on Superman. Can't wait to see it!!!!" tweeted Brett Ratner last month when news broke that the "Watchmen" director would be helming the latest reboot of the DC Comics franchise.

It was an admirable gesture on Ratner's part, considering he spent a year of his life on "Superman" preproduction, only to see the budget balloon and the project collapse. When he stopped by Splash Page HQ to promote "Skyline" recently, Ratner continued to express support for Snyder, but also admitted to some jealously.

"Is there envy? Maybe a little," he told MTV News. "It was a dream of mine to make a Superman movie." Read more...
