Darren Aronofsky is not directing "Wolverine 2."
Oh, don't break out the Kleenex just yet — I'm just overexaggerating. Yes, Aronofsky is still attached to Hugh Jackman's second shot at a "Wolverine" solo title, but the film won't be called "Wolverine 2" as many have anticipated over the past several months. Instead, Aronofsky's film is simply titled "The Wolverine."
The "Black Swan" director spoke with Hit Fix and confirmed the new title, insisting that there won't be a number attached to his "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" sequel. In fact, Aronofsky doesn't even view "The Wolverine" as a sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," describing the film as a "one-off." Read more...

The new 30-second teaser for the "Green Lantern" trailer that hit the 'net has everyone buzzing about the big-screen debut of DC's ring-wielding cosmic hero. Even though there was only half a minute of footage, there was a lot to see in that brief glimpse at one of next year's most-anticipated movies.
From the first look at Kilowog, drill instructor to newbie Green Lanterns, to that shot of Hal Jordan throwing a mean right hook with a big, green fist, the footage offered an early peek at many of the elements Green Lantern fans have been waiting to see.
I've compiled a list of five of my favorite moments from the teaser trailer, so read on and then let me know any other moments that caught your eye. Read more...
During this year's New York Comic Con, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns announced that the "Green Lantern" trailer would premiere ahead of the next installment of the "Harry Potter" movies. With "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" set to premiere November 19, we're just a few days away from seeing Ryan Reynolds become Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814.
And now we won't even have to wait that long.
Entertainment Tonight premiered a 30-second teaser of the "Green Lantern" trailer, which they'll debut on their Tuesday, November 16, show. Even though there's less than a minute of footage, the teaser is packed full of scenes that should have everyone talking — including the first full-body look at Reynolds as Green Lantern, and a quick shot of that ol' poozer himself, Kilowog. The theatrical version of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" that you've seen was not always the version you were meant to see -- once upon a time, director Edgar Wright's adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series ended very, very differently.
When Wright swung by Splash Page headquarters earlier this week to promote the film's recent Blu-ray release, the filmmaker revealed that there was a different ending to "Scott Pilgrim" than the conclusion that actually made it into the final cut -- but that doesn't mean you can't still check out the deleted ending.
"The ending you saw in the theaters is my preferred ending," said Wright. "But I like showing everything!" Read more...

Now that "Transformers 3" filming has wrapped, there's going to be a period of suspense while everyone waits to see what Michael Bay plans to unleash. Gail Simone has a very simple request for him, and I hope you agree with her.
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," meanwhile, has long since been released to theaters, and it's now out on DVD and Blu-ray, though you may have problems finding it in stock. Jhonen Vasquez shared how he overcame that obstacle yesterday. Elsewhere, there's no "Questionable Content" TV series currently in development that I know of, but whether he's serious or not, I wholeheartedly endorse Jeph Jacques' dream team of casting picks. Check those out below along with an out-of-the-blue recommendation for the "Final Crisis" novelization.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for November 12, 2010. Read more...

Even though his name hasn't popped up in connection with the "Superman" reboot too much in recent weeks, Jon Hamm's potential as the next Man of Steel remains in the minds of many fans worldwide.
Hamm himself is aware of the movement to cast the "Mad Men" star in director Zack Snyder's forthcoming adaptation, and believe it or not, he's up for the idea -- in fact, during an appearance on Conan O'Brien's new late night show, the actor said he would love to play "a middle-aged Superman."
"Everyone wants to see a middle-aged Superman," he joked during his "Conan" appearance. "With the power of handicapped parking and mall walking... a Superman who has to buy a fast car and date a younger woman to make him feel alive." Read more...

The search for Batman's new love interest -- and, apparently, a new female adversary -- is officially on.
News broke yesterday that director Christopher Nolan is on the hunt for two leading ladies for "The Dark Knight Rises," with six different actresses reported as the front runners for the job: Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley.
The characters that these actresses would be playing remains unclear, but even without that information, we can still imagine what it might be like if one or more of them winds up in Gotham City for the third Batman film. Read more...

These things takes time. In August of 2009, six months after the project was first announced, Brett Ratner told us that an adaptation of "Youngblood" was still being scripted. The next spring, Ratner let us know he and writers J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani were still hard at work on a draft.
"We're still working on it," Ratner told MTV News when he stopped by Splash Page HQ this week. Read more...
