Director Zack Snyder is in charge of the developing "Superman" reboot, not Christopher Nolan. Got all that? Good!
[UPDATE: A representative for Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas has clarified to MTV News that Christopher Nolan and David Goyer are still very much involved with the "Superman" reboot, and support Zack Snyder's vision for the film.]
Although Nolan and his "The Dark Knight" collaborators David S. Goyer and brother Jonathan Nolan were the ones originally tapped to conceive of a new "Superman" movie idea for Warner Bros., the project is now officially in Snyder's hands — in other words, don't expect to see some sort of unusual collaboration between Nolan and the "Watchmen" filmmaker.
Speaking with Hit Fix, Nolan's wife and producing partner Emma Thomas revealed that "Superman" is currently a Snyder project through and through, saying: "We are handing it off to him."
Thomas revealed that the Nolan team simply brought the new "Superman" movie "to an appropriate screenplay," with the rest of the work falling on Snyder and his trustworthy crew.
In other Nolan news, the filmmaker said that he feels that speculation surrounding "The Dark Knight Rises" is coming at an alarmingly early stage, given the fact that he's still finishing the film's screenplay. Nolan said that he's far from finished with casting, especially because the script isn't finalized just yet.
Interestingly, Nolan added that he's been keeping franchise star Christian Bale "pretty up to date with what's going on" regarding the new Batman film, so perhaps Bale's recent comments that he knows little to nothing about "The Dark Knight Rises" aren't entirely accurate.
