From "Thor" to "Green Lantern" and everything in between, 2011 is most assuredly an excellent year for comic book movie fans. But it's not all capes and tights clogging up theaters next year — comics fans can get their non-superhero fix in the form of "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn," the motion-capture 3D picture from director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson.

Some new images from "Tintin" have arrived online courtesy of Filmofilia (via Spinoff Online), showing the iconic Georges "Herge" Remi-created character in a variety of high stakes situations.
The first image depicts a massive desert landscape where Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his best friend and fellow adventurer Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) set off to discover a hidden treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. The duo's search is assisted by a prison escapee who has an interest in the treasure, all while Detectives Thomson and Thompson (Nick Frost and Simon Pegg) remain in hot pursuit.
The "Tintin" screenplay was written by Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" and "Doctor Who" fame, bringing some enormous geek cred to an already fan-friendly project.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, "Tintin" stars Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Toby Jones as Silk, Mackenzie Crook as Ernie, Tony Curran as Lt. Delcourt, Cary Elwes as a pilot and Gad Elmaleh as Ben Salaad.
