Mindless Self IndulgenceConfession time, folks: When I first read Image Comics' sold-out "Adventures Into Mindless Self Indulgence" comic, my mind simply refused to believe that the electro-punk band's true-life touring stories presented within its pages really happened. They're just that crazy.

However, Mindless self Indulgence bandmates Jimmy Urine, Steve, Righ?, LynZ, and Kitty recently assured me that not only are the stories true — they're only the tip of the wild, bloody, and occasionally obscene iceberg when it comes to their exploits on the road. And the impressive sales of their debut comic, illustrated by talented "Chester 5000 XYV" artist Jess Fink, are just a reflection of fans' love for the mixture of music and chaos the band brings to every performance.

With "Adventures Into Mindless Self Indulgence" headed back for a second printing due to a sellout at the distribution level, I checked in with the band to get the lowdown on their wildly successful debut as comic book authors. Read More...

ThorTony Moore's got big supporter on Twitter in his fellow Robert Kirkman collaborator Ryan Ottley, who made a public plea today get Marvel to let Moore do more Venom covers. I don't know that there was an official Marvel response to that request, but the publisher's envoy to Singapore has been regaling their followers with tales, pictures and adventures this week. C.B. Cebulski, Matt Fraction and Ivan Brandon have all been signing, paneling and posting in their capacities there, though Fraction's impact on the Singapore dumpling supply might need to be independently verified.

In trending topic reactions, a protester swarm's clash with Prince Charles' car caught a lot of tweet attention; Michael Kupperman had some advice for the British royal family member, while Christian Beranek reacted to the new "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" teaser. You can find what he thought and who has a very special reason for wanting to work on a "Thor" book down below.

Chris ZylkaSpider-Man may have met his match in the form of The Lizard and Proto-Goblin, but there's another enemy that has his sights on the superhero's day-to-day alter-ego.

The Wrap reports that Chris Zylka has joined the cast of the forthcoming "Spider-Man" reboot as Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's longtime high school nemesis. The part was previously played in Sam Raimi's trilogy by "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello, recently rumored as a contender for Zack Snyder's "Superman" reboot.

Zylka is best known for the recurring role of Gabe Lammotti on "Hannah Montana." Curiously enough, he's also playing a character named Thor in a movie called "Kaboom." No relation to the upcoming Marvel Studios movies, as far as we know! Read More...

The GovernorIf you thought Merle Dixon was bad, just wait until you get a load of the Governor.

In "The Walking Dead," the Governor is the ruler of an enclosed community known as Woodbury. But lest you think Woodbury is a sanctuary for all non-zombies, think again: it's a place where men are thrown into gladiatorial combat against the flesh-eating walkers, all in an effort to entertain the masses. That's just one of the many twisted and evil acts that the Governor is capable of, with other offenses including chopping off hands, raping women and molesting zombie children.

Needless to say, the Governor is bad people — but that also means he's compelling as all hell. The Governor's involvement in the "Walking Dead" TV series is not just a necessity, it's an inevitability. After the jump, check out five actors we can see as the ruthless villain. Read More...

Emma Stone - Gwen StacyWe've already seen Emma Stone sporting her new Gwen Stacy hair for the "Spider-Man" reboot, but how about some brand new pictures of the actress on the actual "Spider-Man" set?

It's a double-whammy of web-slinging goodness today, as not only are we seeing Stone officially in action as Gwen for the first time, but we're also seeing our first glimpse of filming on the "Spider-Man" reboot. Production was expected to begin in December, and it looks like director Marc Webb met that expectation!

The photos, which come courtesy of Superhero Hype, indicate that Gwen Stacy has seen happier days. Read More...

Howard SternHoliday gifts came early for Howard Stern fans on the Twitter Report's follow list today, as news broke that Howard Stern has signed on to keep his Sirius Radio program for another five years. Brian Michael Bendis, Andy Kuhn and Ande Parks were among those celebrating while the new "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" teaser sneaked onto the Internet to stoke speculation among Autobot and Decepticon enthusiasts.

"Smallville" still commands some eyes as well, a s evidenced by Jamal Igle casting his vote for an actor to play Darkseid. Brad Meltzer, meanwhile, is still enjoying the launch of his new show "Decoded" and shared who he's been getting criticism from. Find out more about that down below along with how Jon Favreau's been making his legs sore.

The Flash movieEarlier this week, I posted a segment from an interview with writer Marc Guggenheim who, along with scripting creator-owned comics "Halcyon" and "Resurrection," also served as co-writer on the upcoming live-action "Green Lantern" movie. Along with discussing Hal Jordan's big-screen debut (and a few DC characters who won't be joining him), we also had a brief chat about another DC character he's helping to bring to theaters: Barry Allen, the scarlet speedster better known as The Flash.

Currently putting the finishing touches on a "Flash" script with co-writers Michael Green and Greg Berlanti, Guggenheim compared their take on the classic DC character to dark, procedural dramas like "Seven" or "Silence of the Lambs," but with superhero elements.

Along with expertly dodging my questions about the presence of Flash's well-known rogues gallery, the writer offered up some interesting thoughts on why Barry Allen was the Flash to focus on in the film (as opposed to Jay Garrick, Wally West, etc). Read More...
