By now it's pretty much a given that "Jonah Hex" will go down as the worst of this year's movies based on comic book properties — and there's an argument to be made that it's one of the worst comic book movies of all time (it's certainly on my list).

Previously, actor Josh Brolin conceded that when it comes to the troubled film based on DC's scarred bounty hunter, he's not proud of "Jonah Hex." However, the project naturally came up in conversation while Brolin made the press rounds for another Western he's starring in these days: "True Grit."

"It is," laughed Brolin when asked if this Western is better than "Jonah Hex." "It didn't need to be, but it is." Read More...

The Dark TowerWhen Roland Deschain begins his quest to reach "The Dark Tower," he'll have more than a few comic books to draw his inspiration from.

"The Dark Tower" director Ron Howard spoke with Hero Complex about his task of adapting Stephen King's classic fantasy books as both a film trilogy and an accompanying television series. During the interview, Howard revealed that the Marvel Comics tie-in issues would play a role in his vision of the seven-part novel series.

"It's the ongoing evolution of the characters and the discovery," Howard said of the "Dark Tower" comic books. "There are new interpretations of the rules of the world and the story. It's a really useful and compelling part of this already fascinating creative journey that we're on." Read More...

Spider-ManAfter numerous injuries in recent weeks, it's no wonder that "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" has suffered yet another delay. But sources close to the show are citing creative difficulties, not safety issues, as the reason for this latest delay.

Even the show's cast and crew are weighing in on the highly publicized safety problems that have left three actors with significant injuries. In an interview with Variety, actress Jenn Damiano, who stars as Mary Jane Watson, addressed the concerns rather bluntly: "I think everybody knows what they signed up for."

"Being an actor is like being an athlete," added Patrick Page, who plays Green Goblin. "It's a physical thing. If a baseball player gets hit by a baseball, you think, 'Wow, we should really work to avoid that.' But we're not terribly surprised." Read More...

Batman 3There's no small number of online rumors these days regarding "The Dark Knight Rises," Christopher Nolan's third (and final) installment of the current Batman movie franchise. The most popular areas of speculation continue to be the identity of the film's villain and whether he'll be played by "Inception" actor Tom Hardy, whose role has yet to be identified.

While we haven't been alone in suggesting that he'd be a good fit for Batman rogue Hugo Strange, a report popping up this week on Batman-On-Film.com indicates that Hardy will not be playing the sinister, bespectacled scientist in "The Dark Knight Rises." While that's far from official word on the casting, it's always fun to knock around a few rumors and see what everyone thinks, right?

But who Hardy won't be playing in the film isn't the only rumor to pop on the popular Bat-fan site lately. Read More...

Last we heard from the "Men In Black 3" camp, the plan was to shoot the modern day scenes in the time-traveling sequel before the end of the year, then go on hiatus until February, when the scenes unfolding in 1969 will be filmed. However, there were rumors of some creative issues that played a role in the upcoming hiatus, possibly prompting a rewrite of the 1969-era plot.

When MTV News caught up with Josh Brolin during the press junket for his new film "True Grit," the actor heaped praise on the "Men In Black 3" script, but stepped cautiously around the rumors of script difficulties.

"Not yet," Brolin told MTV News when asked if he'd filmed any of his role in "Men In Black 3" yet — which makes sense, given that he'll play the 1969 version of Tommy Lee Jones' character. Read More...

Sarah BolgerThe Fox network's adaptation of Joe Hill's "Locke & Key" already has a director and star locked and loaded in the form of Mark Romanek and Miranda Otto — and while the casting process is far from over, it's certainly moving along at a brisk pace.

Deadline reports that actress Sarah Bolger is on board for "Locke & Key," a move made less than a month after the casting of Miranda Otto as Nina Locke. Bolger will play Kinsey Locke, one of the three children at the center of the story.

In "Locke & Key," a normal family is torn apart after an unspeakable tragedy claims the patriarch's life. In light of their father's death, the three Locke children — Tyler, Kinsey (Bolger) and Bode — move with their mother Nina (Otto) to Keyhouse, a mysterious New England mansion located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. Spider-Man: Turn off the DarkBrace yourselves for a shocker, folks: the Spider-Man musical has been delayed once again.

Currently in the midst of preview performances leading up to an officially scheduled January 11 opening, "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" will instead lift its curtains at some point in February, according to two unnamed insiders who spoke with the New York Times.

[UPDATE: The delay was confirmed via press release today.]

The delay is reportedly intended to provide producers with enough time to stage a new final musical number and possibly add new music from composers Bono and The Edge of U2 fame. The rock duo resumes full-time work on the Spider-Man musical later this month. Read More...

Jessica JonesPlans are already in the works for television adaptations of "Hulk" and "Cloak and Dagger," and now you can add yet another character's name to the growing list of Marvel's TV franchises: Jessica Jones.

The "Alias" protagonist is at the heart of "AKA Jessica Jones," a new television series currently in development for ABC. Variety reports that "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is adapting the character for her next TV project, serving as the writer and executive producer on "AKA Jessica Jones."

Although Guillermo del Toro and David Eick are already in place for "Hulk," Variety reports that "Jessica Jones" is far along enough in development that it's likely to become Marvel TV's first official project for ABC. Read More...
