Back to the spoilers, then...
According to the report, roughly 90% of "Captain America" takes place between 1939 and 1945, with the beginning and end of the film occurring in modern times. The film reportedly opens with an exploration team discovering the remnants of a giant bomber plane frozen in the Arctic depths, presumably Cap's (temporarily) final resting place.
We've long known that Johann "Red Skull" Schmidt, leader of Hydra, would spend much of "Captain America" searching for The Tesseract, better known as the Cosmic Cube. What we didn't know is that Schmidt's human face is simply a mask that's hiding his true Red Skull appearance.
We've also known that Steve Rogers would be joined on his journey by longtime pal Bucky Barnes. But we didn't know that Bucky would eventually get captured at a Hydra weapons factory, motivating Cap into action for the first time.
