"Smallville" returns from its midseason break this month to conclude its final, record-breaking season on The CW. Things have moved quickly in this final set of stories, but the biggest question on many fans' minds has yet to be answered — namely, whether we'll see actor Tom Welling's version of Clark Kent don Superman's iconic costume before he bids adieu to the Man of Steel.
Clearly fanning the flames of speculation, The CW has released (via DCU blog The Source) a new teaser image for the second half of the season that offers a glimpse of the ol' red and blue costume. The new image is titled "Destiny Is Now," and features Clark Kent in street clothes with the Superman symbol shining behind him and a semi-obscured reflection of the familiar costume at his feet.
"Smallville" returns January 28 at 8 PM Eastern on The CW.
