Spider-ManThe first image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man was released today, and the online world is buzzing about what it could mean for the upcoming reboot of the blockbuster film franchise.

While there are certainly a lot of questions to be asked about Peter Parker's bloodied and bruised condition in the photo, the image also reveals some interesting changes made to Spider-Man's iconic costume. The lean and lanky Garfield casts a very different shadow as Spidey than the franchise's former star, Tobey Maguire, and given what we can tell from the photo, the familiar red-and-blue costume seems to have undergone a reboot of sorts, too.

After staring intently at the photo without blinking for the last few hours, I've come up with five notable changes in Spider-Man's costume gleaned from the new image. Read More...

Captain AmericaThis, my friends, is what we call a very busy day. Not only has Sony Pictures Entertainment released the very first official photo of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in the forthcoming "Spider-Man" reboot, but we're also getting another good look at a different Marvel Comics icon.

Comic Book Movie posted a scan from a new issue of Entertainment Weekly that features Chris Evans in all of his star-spangled glory as Steve Rogers in "Captain America." It's not our very first look at Evans as Cap, and even though the picture quality is grainy, it's still probably our best glimpse yet at what the actor is going to look like when the film arrives later this year. Andrew Garfield as Spider-ManAttention, Web-Heads! The very first image of Andrew Garfield in costume as Spider-Man has been released by Sony!

You can click on the image below for a larger version, and get an early peek at how the friendly neighborhood webslinger will look in director Marc Webb's as-yet-untitled reboot of the franchise. Though we don't get to see the mask yet, there's enough there to start the conversation — especially since there seems to have been a few changes made to Spidey's iconic duds.

For example, anyone notice the new look for his gloves and the longer, thinner spider symbol on his chest? Read More...

2 GunsDavid O. Russell is a busy guy right now, currently an awards contender for his work on "The Fighter," the boxing movie that's likely to earn Christian Bale an Oscar nomination, if not a win.

Following the critical success of "The Fighter," Russell has some choices ahead of him. He's currently attached to helm an adaptation of the "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" video game with Mark Wahlberg in the lead role, but now there's another wrinkle possibly getting in the way: a comic book adaptation.

Heat Vision reports that Russell is in negotiations to rewrite and possibly direct "2 Guns" for Universal, based on the comic book series created by Steven Grant and Mat Santolouco for Boom Studios. "Wedding Crashers" and "The Dilemma" actor Vince Vaughn would star in the adaptation. Read More...

ThorHaving played Shakespearean rulers and man-eating serial killers among other powerful roles in his lengthy career, let's just say that Anthony Hopkins wasn't intimidated by the prospect of playing a god in "Thor."

Hopkins stars in the superhero flick as Odin, the divine overlord of Asgard and the father to the titular hammer-wielding thunder god. It's a daunting character for any mere mortal to face, but don't make the mistake of calling Hopkins a mere mortal -- the acting legend had no trouble filling out Odin's sizable shoes.

"Well, it's a big movie. [Director Kenneth] Branagh is extraordinary," the actor said in an interview with Collider. "How he directed that and put that together, I don't know. Well, it's about Gods so you have to do a little bit of Shakespeare to play a God." Read More...

"The Green Hornet" hits theaters on Friday, and to be honest, we're a little sorry to see it finally hit theaters. After all, it's been one of the most interesting projects to follow over the last two years or so.

From high-profile casting and creative team changes to uncertainty whether it was even going to happen, "The Green Hornet" has offered no small amount of discussion points around the 'net and offline. No one has had to weather more of that controversy than its star and co-writer, Seth Rogen, and his writing partner, Evan Goldberg.

"It's something that my writing partner Evan would constantly have to remind me of throughout the process, in that this is kind of exactly what we thought would happen," Rogen told MTV News. "From the second we thought about doing a movie like this, I remember talking about it like, 'Everyone's going to think it's going to be insane and terrible and we'll just have to keep our heads down and make it, and then it'll come out and slowly people will see that we weren't nuts and that it was actually a good idea.'" It won't take long for Jennifer Lawrence to become a household name. The 20-year-old actress turned in one of the most touching and surprising performances of 2010 as Ree Dolly in "Winter's Bone," a role she's receiving a lot of deserved attention and Oscar buzz for.

But it's her newest part in 2011 that's of particular interest to Splash Page readers. Lawrence joined the cast of "X-Men: First Class" last year as Raven Darkholme, the shape-shifting mutant better known as Mystique.

"It's a prequel," Lawrence said of "First Class" during a recent interview with MTV News. "It's set in the 1960s, it's with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, some of my favorite actors. I love [those] guys!" Read More...
