All of the delays in the world won't change the fact that "Smallville" will be over soon. For 10 season now, fans have followed a young Clark Kent through his tumultuous childhood, a time marked by all manner of physical changes, a growing awareness of the opposite sex, and naturally supervillains. In a short time, it will all come to a close, presumably with Clark finally realizing his destiny as Superman.
Don't despair yet, though. The second half of the final season has yet to return, and there are still a fair number of episodes left before the Man of Steel (hopefully) shows himself. While we probably won't find out if he'll don the cape and tights any time soon, a TV Guide preview of the upcoming episode "Fortune" does offer some hints of what's to come.
Executive producer Brian Peterson refers to the February 25 episode as "our fun 'Hangover' episode." The "Smallville" gang will head to their very own Sin City, and as you might imagine, shenanigans ensue.
"Clark won't remember what happened the night before," Peterson said. Our common alcohol here on Earth can't faze the Man of Steel, of course, but a spiked bottle of champagne from Zatanna sure can. "You see the wild side of everybody."
Erica Durance, who plays Lois on the show, offered more detail. "We all wake up in different places in bizarre situations involving weird outfits and animals," she said. "I wake up out on the train tracks with Oliver and realize I can't find my engagement ring."
Lois and Oliver eventually follow their trail back to a casino — owned by the '60s DC Comics supervillain Amos Fortune.
There's also word that the coming series finale will run a full two hours, and that it will feature the return of Supergirl. No matter what, it seems that fans are in for quite a few big moments as the series winds to a close in the coming weeks.
