We still have a few hours to go before this year's Super Bowl, but the first big movie trailer scheduled to air during the game has already arrived online. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for some brand new footage from "Cowboys & Aliens," courtesy of director Jon Favreau.
The "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2" filmmaker announced the trailer's early premiere via Twitter today, hours before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLV, when the new trailer will make its television debut.
"I'm going to post the #Superbowl commercial before the game so that every country can see it at the same time," tweeted Favreau.
The first trailer for "Cowboys & Aliens" debuted back in November 2010, giving fans their first look at the live-action, big-screen adaptation of the 2006 comic book published by Platinum Studios. The original comic was created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley, with artist Luciano Lima providing the interior pencils.
After the first trailer debuted, Favreau sat down with MTV News to provide an exclusive scene-by-scene breakdown of the "Cowboys & Aliens" footage.
"Cowboys & Aliens" is scheduled to hit theaters July 29, 2011, and stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and Sam Rockwell.
