Just in case you missed it yesterday, Tales of Monkey Island and Back to the Future developer Telltale Games is preparing episodic adventure game adaptations of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" and Bill Willingham's "Fables." Of course, the news triggered a wave of curiosity from fans and observers looking to learn more about what the developer's plans are for translating each series into an interactive experience.
Kirkman sat down for an interview in which he said very little about the game, but he made up for it when he dropped some hints on what to expect from Season Two of AMC's hit television series "The Walking Dead."
"The game is at an early stage and we're in the process of mapping it out now," he told IGN. "[It's] definitely within the comic book world, just like the novel series, [and] it's definitely episodic."
Speaking on the TV series, Kirkman promised that fans can look forward to seeing more from the comics making its way into the weekly stories. "For the most part, it will be circling back around [to the comics] but, like the entirety of the first season, there will always be divergences from the comic story to keep people on their toes."
As far as specific characters go, Kirkman names Michonne, Tyrese and Hershel as characters he'd very much like to see make their way into the second season.
"Whether or not we'll get to all of them in [Season Two] is up in the air," he admitted. "I'm looking forward to most every comic book character making it into the show, but I'm excited to see who we actually do get to."
While there's unfortunately not much more to reveal right now, take heart in the fact that Kirkman is already working with recently appointed executive writing producer Glen Mazzara.
"I've been working closely with Glen for a week now," he said, adding, "and you're going to have to wait for any details, because I can't reveal anything right now."
