Marion CotillardIt's beginning to seem like Christopher Nolan was so happy with the cast of "Inception," he's putting the band back together for his next film, "The Dark Knight Rises." It was reported this weekend that "Inception" actress Marion Cotillard was joining the cast of Nolan's third Batman film, and now a new report indicates that while it's not a done deal, the actress is indeed in talks for a mystery role.

Cotillard's involvement was originally reported by French newspaper Le Figaro, which announced that the casting was not only official but the pregnant actress would join the production this summer after her baby is born. A rep for Cotillard later told The Hollywood Reporter that the actress is "in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet."

There's been no official word from Warner Bros. at this point. Read More...

The upcoming reboot of the "ThunderCats" animated series has been one of the hottest projects we've covered here on Splash Page lately, so it's probably no surprise that we made a point of checking out Bandai's "ThunderCats" toy line on the first day of Toy Fair 2011.

MTV News got the full scoop on the "ThunderCats" toys from Bandai Marketing Director Brehan Maul this weekend, including a great preview of the action figures, vehicles, and yes, a Sword Of Omens that will let you test out your own "sight beyond sight" abilities.

"There is such a rich, deep base of characters," said Maul of the source material for their "ThunderCats" line. "We're exploring that now and expect to have a fully expanded line. This is just a sample of the characters, and there will be more to come — even in the first wave." Read More...

Toy Fair 2011 kicked off this weekend in New York City, and just like in years past, Splash Page was there to check out the swag based on this year's most anticipated comic book movies and television series.

"Green Lantern" hits theaters June 17, but the first line of Mattel's official "Green Lantern" movie toys arrives on shelves in May. Mattel Marketing Manager Scott Neitlich gave MTV News a quick preview of what we can expect to see when the "Green Lantern" line finally arrives in shops.

"One of the nice things about 'Green Lantern' is that it has so many characters, there are 3,600 lanterns out there and we're bringing a lot of them to the toy line," said Neitlich. Read More...

The "X-Men: First Class" trailer hit the 'net this week and caused no small amount of discussion among those who viewed it. Along with our own "First Class" reader poll, we also heard from comic creators, and named some of our own favorite scenes here at Splash Page HQ.

But what does Magneto himself have to say about the "X-Men: First Class" trailer?

During the press junket for his new film "Jane Eyre," MTV News asked "X-Men: First Class" actor Michael Fassbender to take us through the trailer, frame by frame, to offer some additional context for our preview. Read More...

The Walking Dead toys - MichonneEarlier today we told you about the new line of "The Walking Dead" action figures based on the hit AMC television series and the award-winning Image Comics series, but now we have a special, exclusive bonus for Splash Page readers, courtesy of McFarlane Toys.

Probably the most asked-about character yet to make an appearance in the television series is Michonne, the mysterious, violent woman who joins Rick Grimes' band of survivors early in the comic book series. We've heard from the cast and creators of the AMC series that Michonne is practically a lock for Season Two, and now we get our first look at the new action figure based on the character.

As you can see from the image below, the Michonne figure hasn't been painted yet, but it gives you a great preview of what's to come for one of the series' most popular characters. Read More...

Marvel movie cohorts Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson will be starring alongside one another in an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "Sunset Limited," airing on HBO this weekend. Of course, a new project means doing the press circuit, so Jones recently fielded a couple of questions relating to his roles in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Men in Black III."

Sunday's debut of the "Captain America" trailer featured a few brief shots of Jones decked out in military regalia as Col. Chester Phillips, prompting Vulture to ask him why, at this point in his celebrated career, he chose to do a superhero film.

"Yeah, I ask myself that same question every day!" he replied. "The character I play is the one you’ve seen in a thousand movies — the gruff, skeptical officer overseeing a team of talented, slightly sarcastic, specially talented soldiers. ... Skeptical [of Cap's value]. At first. And then convinced." Read More...

The debut trailer for "X-Men: First Class" went live late yesterday, a stylish, fan-serving affair that teases just about every beat imaginable. Bryan Singer, director of the first two "X-Men" movies for Fox, is replaced at the helm in the upcoming '60s-set prequel by Matthew Vaughn, but he's still involved as a producer and he's got a lot to say about the new trailer.

"What’s great... about all of these characters is that they haven’t honed their abilities yet," Singer said in an interview with Hero Complex. "[For example,] Havok is a danger to himself and everyone around him. That’s where this movie is at — the recruiting of these mutants and bringing them together.”

Given Singer's past involvement with the series, he's intrigued at the idea of seeing younger performers capture some of the same characters at different points in their lives. Read More...

X-Men First ClassNo trailer can please all of the X-Men fanboys and girls all of the time, but it was interesting to see how divisive the "X-Men: First Class" trailer and all of its scenes were for the comics community yesterday. Some loves the '60s feel; some thought it wasn't '60s enough.

In other posts, Egypt is still headlining trend reports. "Mubarak is like..." tweets have been in fashion, and we've definitely had a few of those in the feed. Check out reactions on that front and advice on the properties of Cheeto dust down below. It's a can't-miss day.

The Walking Dead toysLet's face it: It was only a matter of time before "The Walking Dead" got its own line of action figures. Still, we can probably all agree that it's an added bonus to see the award-winning Image Comics series and hit AMC television series brought to the collectible toy market by one of the best in the biz, McFarlane Toys.

McFarlane Toys announced the new "Walking Dead" line of action figures this week, and revealed an image of one of the figures, "Zombie Lurker." The figures will be released in two separate lines, with one based on the comic book series and one based on the hit television series.

The first set of four figures, based on "The Walking Dead" comic, will hit shelves in September and include Officer Rick Grimes, Michonne, Zombie Lurker, and Zombie Roamer. The line based on the television series will follow in November, with figures based on Deputy Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Zombie Walker, and Zombie Biter. Read More...

"Smallville" is going to be over before you know it, with only a handful of episode remaining in its just-resumed 10th and final season.

The one thing that fans really want to see, other than young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) finally suiting up as Superman of course -- is the return of Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor, who left the series after Season Seven. Unfortunately, it seems now that fans won't be getting their wish.

"He has put the show behind him," a "knowledgeable source" tells EW. "He’s pursuing his other creative outlet [writing]. By all indications, he is not going to be involved." Read More...
