Alec Baldwin"Men In Black 3" is on hiatus right now, but anyone who's been keeping a close eye on the long-developing project knows that it boasts an impressive cast of Hollywood notables — a list that has now lost at least one name: "30 Rock" actor Alec Baldwin.

"I'm not doing that. I'm out of it; the schedule didn't work out," Baldwin told New York Magazine's Vulture blog this week.

As we reported in February, production on "Men In Black 3" was recently delayed until March 28. Various sources have indicated that script problems are to blame for the delay, though star Josh Brolin recently denied the reports. Read more...

SandmanIt was less than 24 hours ago that a report hit the 'net alleging that plans for a television series based on Neil Gaiman's award-winning "Sandman" comics had stalled out — but now it looks like rumors of the project's demise had been greatly exaggerated.

This afternoon, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns took to Twitter to clarify yesterday's comments from "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, the former front-runner to helm "Sandman" on The CW. According to Johns, a "Sandman" series is not only still in the works, Gaimain himself will be involved with the project.

"Correction to world: The Sandman is AWAKE! :) Psyched to be working with @neilhimself on developing one of the greatest series ever!" wrote Johns. Read more...

HomefrontGilbert Gottfried built his career on insensitive jokes, but he crossed a line with Aflac this week, thanks to his Japan tweeting, and the company now wants a new voice for their duck. Plenty of posters came out to ridicule him, and some showed up to support him; still, most, like Mike Allred and Matt Fraction, are focused on the nightmarish events still unfolding in the wake of the tsunami.

In other posting, if you're considering picking up "Homefront" this week, keep an eye on Jhonen Vasquez's account, because he looks like he may try it out. His thoughts, some iPad 2 anxiety and a killer Skottie Young sketch make up the day's recap.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for March 15, 2011. Read more...

We've seen quite a bit of the mutants in "X-Men: First Class," but not all of the heroes in Matthew Vaughn's prequel have super-human powers. One character we haven't seen much of so far is Dr. Moira MacTaggert, a brilliant, mutant-friendly geneticist in the X-Men comics universe who will be played by actress Rose Byrne in the new film.

MTV News recently caught up with Byrne at the red carpet for "Jane Eyre" and got her to spill a few details about the movie version of Moira MacTaggert.

"She works for the CIA in this prequel and gets involved in the whole mutant community as it were," Byrne told MTV News. Read more...

The premiere of "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" is more than a year away, but we've heard repeatedly -- particularly from star Nicolas Cage -- that this sequel is going to be different from the original. "Crank" writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are a big reason for that, not just for their particular style but also for their approach, as Taylor made clear in a recent interview.

"We basically completely re-envisioned the whole start of the character, and actually had to re-engineer the origin of the Ghost Rider," he told Movieline during a chat at South By Southwest this week.

He continued, "The whole mythology behind the Ghost Rider that existed in the comic books never really made sense to me, so we sort of had to re-engineer the entire back-story of the Ghost Rider into something new." Read more...

X-Men: First ClassWhile reactions to the first "X-Men: First Class" trailer have been mixed, we weren't alone in feeling like the first footage from Matthew Vaughn's upcoming prequel film won us over and eased a lot of our fears regarding the project. Now, some new footage has arrived online courtesy of a Russian trailer for "X-Men: First Class."

Posted over at The Playlist, the new trailer offers quite a bit of new footage — specifically, some new scenes showcasing the powers of young mutant Sean Cassidy (a.k.a. Banshee). Played by Caleb Landry Jones, Banshee is seen showing off his mutant vocal abilities, and we even get a quick shot of him flying through the air.

Yes, even in Russian, the "X-Men: First Class" footage has made me a believer. Read more...

SandmanSorry to get your hopes up, "Sandman" fans — it looks like plans for a television series based on Neil Gaiman's groundbreaking comic have fallen through yet again.

Back in September, it was reported that the television arm of Warner Bros. was in the process of acquiring the rights to the series through sister company DC Entertainment, with “Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke the top choice to develop the project. And while Kripke was indeed the front-runner for the project, he had some bad news for fans at last weekend's PaleyFest "Supernatural" event in Los Angeles.

“Unfortunately, for a lot of varying reasons, Sandman is not in the works, at least for this season," he told The Hollywood Reporter. Read more...

RASLIt's been a while since we last received an update on the planned adaptation of "Bone," Jeff Smith's epic adventure that spanned more than a decade of issues. And while that project seemingly remains in development at Warner Bros., another one of Smith's stories has jumped into the adaptation spotlight.

According to Variety, "Sherlock Holmes" producer Lionel Wigram has acquired the rights to make a feature film out of "RASL," Smith's science-fiction series that follows a dimension-hopping art thief. Expected to wrap up in 2012 or 2013, the series recently saw issue #9 arrive on shelves.

The report indicates that Wigram will produce "RASL" with Smith and Peter Eskelsen serving as executive producers on the adaptation. Read more...

We're all ready for Andrew Garfield to kick some super-villain ass as New York City's premiere wall-crawling superhero in "The Amazing Spider-Man." He was outstanding in "The Social Network" and one of few saving graces in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus."

Garfield's co-star Martin Sheen, who plays Uncle Ben in the movie, is a fan as well. That's a pretty big vote of confidence, coming from a veteran actor who was once President of the United States.

"He's quite the marvel, a very fine actor. He's a lovely guy, very disciplined, very focused," Sheen said in an interview with TotalFilm.

"He called me up and said, 'This is Andrew Garfield' and I said, 'Who?' and he said, 'Uh, we're in the movie together...' and I said, 'Yeah, what part do you play?' and he said, 'Uh, I play your nephew!' I liked him instantly." Read more...
