Johnny WhitworthGhost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” won’t be released until next year, but actor Johnny Whitworth is already talking about it and his role as the villain Blackout.

In an interview with ShockTillYouDrop, Whitworth answered questions about the film and his favorite elements of the pseudo-sequel. His favorite part of shooting? Well, besides working with Nicolas Cage, it’s the whole comic-book thing.

“I got to be a comic book character,” Whitworth gloated. Read More...

With all of the lead roles (seemingly) now squared away, the rest of the cast of Christopher Nolan's trilogy-capper "The Dark Knight Rises" is coming together. In fact, a new name has just been confirmed: Juno Temple.

The young actress joins the cast as a "street-smart Gotham girl," Variety reports.

How large a role her character will play in the story is a mystery, but Variety probably rightly guesses that, given the general character description and lack of a proper name, it's a small part. Read More...

ChewShowtime has had a big appetite for new projects these days — and it looks like they're biting off a piece of the hit comic series "Chew" by Jonathan Layman and Rob Guillory.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Showtime bought the script as a half-hour cop show with Stephen Hopkins ("Californication", "Predator 2") attached to both direct and executive produce the project.

The comic series "Chew" centers around a police detective named Tony Chu with the unorthodox ability to receive psychic impressions from whatever he eats. Odd as it may be, through the years-long series it's borne out to be a valuable skill as Chu works for the police and a militarized F.D.A. Read More...

The first full-length "Captain America: The First Avenger" trailer has arrived online, ending a week of sneak peeks, early clips, and anticipation. Earlier today, I analyzed some of the key scenes from the new footage, and now it's time for some full-on trailer commentary, courtesy of yours truly (MTV Splash Page Editor Rick Marshall) and MTV Movies Blog Editor (and former Splash Page writer) Josh Wigler.

What did we think of the trailer? What did we think while we were watching the trailer? Check out the video below to find out:

Quite a dashing pair, aren't we? But enough about us — what did you think of the trailer? Read More...

It's been a while since we heard anything official regarding "Xerxes," the pseudo-prequel to "300" that Frank Miller penned in graphic novel form (it debuts in next month's "Dark Horse Presents") and Zack Snyder has indicated plans to adapt.

A rumor that made the rounds in February suggested that Snyder's work on the upcoming "Superman: Man Of Steel" and his new film "Sucker Punch" could make it unlikely he'll be behind the camera for "Xerxes." With that in mind, we asked the director about the status of the film on the "Sucker Punch" red carpet this week.

"['300' co-writer Kurt Johnstadt] and I have finished the script," Snyder told MTV News. "We have a script and... it would be cool to make it." Read More...

Abin SurAbin Sur’s incubated corpse was a big draw for the Warner Bros. booth at this past summer’s San Diego Comic Con. Unless you were one of many tightly squeezed attendants, however, you might not have gotten such a good look.

Cosmic Book News was early in scoring an image fans can now spot in issues of Green Lantern #64.

Played by Temuera Morrison, Sur was also (very) briefly visible within the “Green Lanterntrailer. Fans of Star Wars entire cannon might remember Morrison as Jengo Fett in “Attack of the Clones." Read More...

Sucker PunchTwo new movies dominated discussion in the Twitter Report feed this morning, and the verdicts varied. While the new "Captain America: The First Avenger" trailer attracted scads of exclamation marks about its cast and teases, Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch," meanwhile, has folks like Brian Michael Bendis and Skottie Young a little more wary, and a couple of micro-reviews that showed up were even less friendly.

On a personal note, all the film has to do for me is be as good as or better than Rob Bowman's "Reign of Fire." If Snyder does that much, I'll be fine.

Elsewhere, Mark Millar mentioned that he's got yet another film project in the works, bringing his Millarworld slate up to five by his count. Place your bets on what it might be and see if you're on the same page as Dave Gibbons and Kevin Maguire about Chris Evans down below.

It's difficult to keep track of the "Sandman" TV series news that's been flying around the last few months, so let's review some of the recent happenings before we get into the latest news.

Toward the end of last year, Warner Bros TV was reported to be working on developing an adaptation of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel series. Then "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, a top choice to develop the project, said that there's nothing happening on the "Sandman" front, "at least not for this season." Then DC Entertainment COO Geoff Johns took to Twitter to reassure everyone that the series is happening, and Gaiman is involved.

That was last week. This week, Gaiman himself has spoken up to address what's going on. Read More...
