At this rate, the entire "Captain America: The First Avenger" trailer that's supposed to debut this week will be released in six-second clips over the next few days — and we're still deciding whether that's a good thing. The third trailer preview premiered this afternoon, and puts the focus on Cap's arch enemy, Red Skull.

The new clip was once again posted to Twitvid by Paramount Pictures, and it looks like this won't be the last clip to appear there in the near future. Read More...

Edi GathegiFor actor Edi Gathegi, playing Darwin in the upcoming “X-Men: First Class” movie is like fulfilling a childhood dream. He’s been a fan of the franchise since he was a boy.

In an interview with the Italian website Comicus, he was happy to talk about his character and his love for all things “X-Men.”

“I was a major X-Men fan as a youth,” he revealed. “I'd wake up every Saturday morning with my bowl of cereal glued to the tv screen enjoying my favorite comic brought to life as a cartoon.”

He described his character for people less familiar with Darwin, talking about the mutant’s skill at "reactive adaptation." Read More...

Sure, we know that any time Zack Snyder does any sort of press, the conversation will inevitably turn toward his "Superman" reboot, and a bunch of questions will be asked that he can't answer. Nevertheless, when MTV News caught up with the man behind the latest big screen incarnation of the man of steel, I did my best to try and get a scoop.

The following back-and-forth comes courtesy of: A) an interview I conducted during the "Sucker Punch" junket; and B) our fearless MTV Splash Page editor Rick Marshall, whose brilliant questions Snyder had a lot of fun not answering...

First up, I presented Snyder with two photos: one of the famous George Reeves costume and the other of the infamous, shiny ensemble briefly worn by Nicolas Cage. I asked Snyder to tell us where his Superman costume might fall on the George-Reeves-to-Nicolas-Cage scale. Read More...

RIP Elizabeth TaylorFilm icon Elizabeth Taylor's death hit Twitter hard this morning, and "Cleopatra" fans in the comics world paid their respects in posts. Rags Morales and Greg Pak took to their accounts to share memories, while Alex Irvine brought up the "Asterix" volume she inspired and Paul Southworth worried about what's going on with Bubbles.

In other topics, Bryan Lee O'Malley appeared to have an epiphany about Craig Thompson's upcoming graphic novel "Habibi." Someone else expressed a much less coherent opinion about protests going on around the world recently, and Gail Simone made quite a pitch for a new DC series.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for March 23, 2011. Read More...

Spider-Man: Turn Off The DarkYour friendly neighborhood MTV Splash Page editor was in attendance at a performance of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" last night, and while there were a few technical glitches that stalled the show, there didn't appear to be any on-stage injuries during the production. The same cannot be said of a performance last week, however, that put actress T.V. Carpio out of commission for two weeks.

Carpio, who plays the eight-legged, goddess-like Arachne in the musical, suffered the undisclosed injury during a March 16 preview performance, according to The New York Times. The report indicates that the injury occurred during a fight scene with actor Matthew James Thomas, who replaced Reeve Carney as Peter Parker for that night's performance.

Carpio has been replaced by America Olivo as the show's Arachne, and played the role during last night's performance, which featured a high-flying, wire-assisted brawl between Spider-Man and Arachne in Act II — rumored to be the scene in which Carpio's injury occurred. Read More...

SupermanWith his upcoming film “Sucker Punch” just days away from release, director Zack Snyder isn’t pulling any punches about his next assignment on “Superman.” The film, currently going under the working title of “Superman: Man of Steel,” is the centerpiece for DC and parent company Warner Bros.’ plans for a full slate of superhero films.

“I think Superman is broken and needs to be fixed, from a movie stand point,” the director admitted in an audio interview with HollywoodOutbreak.com. “He is the biggest superhero on the planet – the father of every superhero.”

Throwing a not-to-subtle dig at Marvel’s upcoming “Thor” film, Snyder said the “world is out of balance” when Marvel has a “Thor” movie coming out but the “Superman” film franchise is reeling. Read More...
