Actress Zoë Kravitz had to do more than act in order to get into the role of Angel Salvadore for the upcoming movie “X-Men: First Class.” Since superheroes are known for being buff and in shape, it required strenuous exercise and a change in diet.
It was also a matter of making sure she could cover some of the action sequences.
“I needed a really strong core because I do a lot of action sequences that are filmed using wires, which mean hanging from a harness for hours,” she said in an interview with Company Magazine (via Music Rooms). Read more...

Last week, a rumor that named "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson among the contenders for the lead role in David Slade's upcoming "Daredevil" pseudo-sequel caused no small amount of buzz around the online world.
When MTV News spoke to the "Water For Elephants" actor as part of this weekend's live, streaming "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" interview, we made sure to ask him about the rumor pegging him as a potential Matt Murdock.
"I don't know where that one came from at all," said Pattinson of the rumor. Read more...

Creators seem to have mostly abandoned the Windy City now, following a heavily tweeted Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo over the weekend. In its wake, C2E2 left us with sketches, cosplay images and even a fancy menu prepared by Rick Bayless that was served to the Marvel gang.
Not all of the pics posted over the weekend were full of happiness, though. Ryan Ottley announced that he didn't think some of his old "Invincible" artwork was up to snuff and held a TwitPic'd burning party (hat tip to @salloria). Check out the evidence belong, along with a wish for AT&T following their purchase of T-Mobile.

"Thor" comes to U.S. theaters on May 6 (a.k.a. two weeks after it starts arriving everywhere else). Some people here in the U.S. might call that a crime of superhuman proportions — the sort of thing handled by S.H.I.E.L.D., the world's premiere crime-fighting organization, in fact.
Well, now you can join up with Marvel's international weapon against supervillain threats, thanks to a new viral partnership connected with the May 6 release.
Marvel Studios and Acura teamed up to launch JoinSHIELD.com on April 11, just 10 days shy of the Australia release of "Thor," reports The Daily Blam!. The coming launch was revealed during this weekend's Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo. Read more...

We've had a few months to get used to the idea of British actor Henry Cavill playing Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the Warner Bros. film franchise, but we're probably not alone in remembering a time when everything was up in the air regarding the Man of Steel.
When MTV News caught up with Snyder during a press event for his new film "Sucker Punch," we asked him what won Cavill the Superman role over other rumored contenders like "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello.
"Henry's just ... I love Joe too, by the way," Snyder told MTV News. "Really he was the only other guy I was thinking of, to be honest, other than Henry." Read more...

It was reported a few weeks ago that Christopher Nolan's "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in talks to join the cast of the director's upcoming last dance with Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises." It was almost one month ago today that Adrianne Palicki was announced as the star of NBC's upcoming "Wonder Woman" television series, and this afternoon we received our first look at the "Friday Night Lights" actress in costume as DC's premiere superheroine.

The new image features Palicki clad in a skin-tight costume that samples from both modern and classic takes on the character, and has caused no small amount of discussion around the online world. Some love it, some hate it, and some are wondering how it's any worse (or better) than what she wears in the comic.
So what do you think? Read more...

The first look at Palicki as Wonder Woman (a.k.a. Diana Prince) was revealed on EW.com this afternoon, and it's sure to prompt a lot of discussion among hardcore comics fans and newcomers alike. In many ways, the costume looks to be influenced by the more modern versions of Wonder Woman's iconic costume, though there are certainly a few nods to the character's classic look.

We're just a few months away from the premiere of Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," so it's no surprise that the Merry Marvel Marketing Machine is revving up for the final promotional push.
Earlier this week we saw a host of new images from "Thor" arrive online, as well as a new line of collectible "Thor" cards that offer you a chance to own part of the god of thunder's costume. This time around, a pair of new international posters have debuted on the Empire Magazine website.
The new posters feature Chris Hemsworth as Thor front and center, as well as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Idris Elba as Heimdall. Read more...

Disappointment rang out on the Twitter Report's follow list yesterday after news broke Darren Aronofsky is no long directing "The Wolverine." Mark Millar has hopes for a replacement, though, and you'll definitely want to see what he had to say.
Ron Marz, meanwhile, laid out his wish for Zack Snyder's "Superman" reboot. That, as well as some reaction to the recent developments in Libya and a "Rango" evaluation await you after the jump.
