MTV News recently sat with Bruce Banner himself, Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, to learn more about his thoughts on the project. While Ruffalo couldn’t reveal too much, he did give us some hints about what to expect when he joins Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the rest of the team.
“I’m really excited,” he said. “I loved working with Robert Downey [Jr.] and I loved kind of what they’ve done with the genre with ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Batman.’”
As for the team of superheroes we’ll be seeing him join as Hulk, he said, “I just think it’s a very cool marriage of different talents.”
Ruffalo also had good words to say about "Avengers" director Joss Whedon: “I think [he] is really going to do something very, very cool with this.”
Ruffalo revealed that he isn’t someone who will just show up and say his lines. According to the actor, he’s been involved with getting the script just right.
“We’ve been working on the script for months now,” the actor said. "I’ve been very active in that process.”
“It really is the Bruce Banner that I want to play,” he added. “I think it will be an interesting twist on him. I don’t want to go too deep into that. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope it delivers on all fronts.”
