Dark Knight ComicMore cream of casting news has risen to the surface of “The Dark Knight Rises” production. As the last actor updates to Christopher Nolan’s Batman film finale trickle in, roles are bound to shrink to mere collected seconds on screen. Maybe that’s why our latest update consists of not one, but three fresh faces to the cast.

According to Variety, “Rescue Me” actor Daniel Sunjata is in early talks to portray a Special Forces operative.

Red head Diego Klattenhoff—having been mostly remanded to the small screen save an appearance in “Mean Girls”—has won the part of a rookie cop. Finally, the trade asserts that character actor Ben Gorman (seen in “Layer Cake”) is also in talks for a supporting role. Read more...

The CrowBy Jenni Miller

The remake/reboot/rejiggering of "The Crow" is flapping its way to fruition. However, the latest rumor that "The Hangover, Part II" star Bradley Cooper is in talks to star as Eric Draven has met with some skepticism.

Can the wholesome-looking star don Draven's eyeliner and satisfy fans of the Alex Proyas original? Can he lose the trademark smirk long enough to win over those of us who had the posters and the comics and the soundtrack and perhaps even the t-shirt? (I mean, I'm just saying, some people keep stuff like that around.)

Just in case Cooper decides to fly elsewhere, here are five suggestions for actors we'd like to see take his place. Read more...

Doctor WhoSome bloggers have been hoping to see or hear Michael Clarke Duncan step into the role of Kilowog in "Green Lantern" for a long time now. He's reportedly down now, however—and there was much rejoicing.

In other celebratory posts, Kieron Gillen reluctantly praised Hugh Grant—I'm assuming because he's in the news for reverse snooping on the press. "Game of Thrones," meanwhile, remains a much less controversial topic. Everyone's stokes about that. Check out what Jonathan Hickman won't let come between him and the new HBO show and how Brian Lynch would handle a "Scream 4"-style situation after the jump.

Wonder WomanCelebrities are always scrutinized for what they wear, and it seems that it’s even worse if you’re Wonder Woman. We’ve seen Adrianne-Palicki as Wonder-Woman in a shiny publicity shot and red-booted set photos, but there might be yet another outfit waiting to be unveiled.

According to TVLine, there’s a third outfit that has yet to be seen by the public and it should please fans.

“There was an initial outcry about the long pants – you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts [worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series],” said NBC president Robert Greenblatt. “But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale [played by Elizabeth Hurley].” Read more...

Michael Clarke DuncanGreen Lantern” is in post-production, and part of that means getting the voice work done. We’ve known for a long time about Ryan Reynolds' role as Hal Jordan, but now we know who'll provide the voice of one of the best-known alien members of the Green Lantern Corps, too.

There have been rumors about Michael Clarke Duncan voicing Kilowog for weeks, and now The Hollywood Reporter has been able to report that it’s more than just potential casting. The site indicated that the offer was extended to Duncan on Tuesday and the Oscar-nominated actor is now in negotiations for the role.

This comes two weeks after it was announced that Geoffrey Rush would provide the voice of the alien Corps member Tomar-Re. Read more...

Earlier this week, we brought you the news that actor Michael Shannon will play Zod in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the "Superman" movie franchise. Warner Bros.' casting choice for the Kryptonian villain is big news for several reasons — not only did it reveal the chief antagonist for the film, but it also put a relatively unknown actor in a well-known role for comics fans.

While there's general agreement that Shannon was a good choice for the role, the decision to feature Zod in the film has divided the larger fan community (much like it did MTV Splash Page readers). In order to get a bit more perspective on the issue, I chatted up a few experts around the industry to get their opinions on Shannon's casting, Zod's presence in the film, and all things "Superman" reboot, and find out how they compare to my own.

And there you have it! Read more...

DESCPeople can get pretty opinionated on their choice of actors when comic books get made into movies, and “X-Men: First Class” director Matthew Vaughn only had two men in mind for the casting of villain Sebastian Shaw. For him, it was either going to be Kevin Bacon or Colin Firth.

Kevin Bacon ended up with the role, but Vaughn told TotalFilm that Firth was high in the running.

“There were only two people I wanted for Shaw,” he said. “It was between Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon.” Read more...

Doctor WhoThe new season of "Doctor Who" is almost upon us, fellow Whovians — and I know I'm not alone in looking forward to some new adventures with The Eleventh Doctor.

Last night, BBC America hosted an early screening of the first two episodes of the new season, which premieres April 23, and offered up a Q&A with the series' cast and creators that served as a great reminder of why love for all things "Doctor Who" is at an all-time high. Nowhere was this more evident than in the impressively long line (people had begun lining up the previous night) that greeted cast members Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Alex Kingston, as well as showrunner Steven Moffat and a host of other "Doctor Who" notables when they arrived at the event.

In order to shed some light on what you can look forward to in the two-part season premiere, I've come up with a spoiler-free list of five elements from "The Impossible Astronaut" and "Day Of The Moon" that had everyone buzzing after the event. Read more...
