DeadpoolRyan Reynolds, the man of oh-so-many comic book projects, has "Green Lantern" hitting theaters in June and is-he-isn't-he attachments to both "Deadpool" and "R.I.P.D." He's gone on record saying he'll likely only shoot one or the other, giving Wade Wilson fans legitimate reason to worry about the Merc with a Mouth's big-screen future.

But even if Reynolds himself hasn't fully committed to "Deadpool," it appears that 20th Century Fox has: at long last, "Deadpool" has a director.

Deadline reports that Tim Miller, a visual effects veteran from previous "X-Men" films, has just been tasked with bringing "Deadpool" to life for the studio. Though he has a long list of VFX credits on films like "Daredevil" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," this would mark his first time stepping behind the lens as director.

DESCZach Galifianakis has announced that he will no longer be starring in “R.I.P.D.” alongside Ryan Reynolds. This comes approximately two months after Galifianakis first got involved with the film.

According to a report at Deadline, Galifianakis has dropped out not because he dislikes the script about undead cops, but because of all-important scheduling reasons. With other things on his plate — namely “Southern Rivals” for Warner Brothers and the series “Bored to Death” for HBO — things simply got too hectic.

With Joss Whedon's "The Avengers" scheduled to arrive in theaters roughly just a year after "Thor" opens on May 6, Marvel fans are antsy for updates on the status of Earth's Mightiest Heroes' inevitable onscreen teamup. Aside from the actors' onstage gathering at Comic-Con last summer, however, it doesn't appear the Avengers have done much full-on assembling.

Speaking with MTV News, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth revealed that while "The Avengers" actors have met seperately, they haven't gotten down to business quite yet.

"We've met sort of separately at various events and things, but yet to all sit down in the same room and do a read through...which I'm very excited about," said Hemsworth.

Tintin comicTintin, the beloved Belgian boy adventurer of comic book fame is well on his way to the big screen.

At the cusp of the New Year we even saw some images from the motion-capture 3D movie, titled “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn” after the eleventh title in artist Herge’s series. But unlike each and every Hollywood-handled comic franchise under the sun, Tintin is lucky to be a particular passion project for the superteam handling him, director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson.

No doubt the character and his expansive comic book adventures are equally beloved by Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat, handlers of cult-revered properties “Scott Pilgrim” and “Doctor Who,” and Tintin’s inaugural screenwriters. But the film is first in a series of 3D ventures, and as broadcast out of the UK on Richard Bacon’s Radio 5 talk show and related via Bleeding Cool, the second Tintin movie may already have a new screenwriter.

“I’ve been hired to write ‘Tintin,’” popular children's novel author Anthony Horowitz revealed.

If you ever wondered what Wolverine would sound like speaking Japanese, here’s your chance to find out. G4 has released a three and a half minute clip of the “Wolverine” anime and it’s still in its original language.

Spinoff Online posted the clip, which G4 has released to give fans a taste of what they’ll get once it hits the station. You might not be able to understand all that Wolverine’s saying (he does say something pretty classic in English at the end, though), but this gives a feel of the style and animation. There’s plenty of fighting action on top of a skyscraper and Wolverine shows off his powers by attacking invisible people with his claws. The action continues while falling from that skyscraper and Wolverine makes it all look too easy.

SmallvilleToday the CW will start playing a promo forecasting the final episodes of “Smallville” and hinting at Clark Kent’s transformation into Superman. It seems like we’ve been saying that forever, but rest assured, you’ve never heard a “Smallville” promo like this.

That’s right, the CW went ahead and licensed John Williams’ classic score from 1978’s original “Superman.” (This track is titled "The Planet Krypton.”) As pointed out by EW, it is also worth noting the word “believe,” part of the iconic 1978 “Superman” tag line, “You will believe a man can fly.”

Locke and KeyIf you follow any number of comics creators on Twitter, you know that the official list of 2011 Eisner nominations emerged yesterday. Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez enjoyed a whopping four nominations between them for their work on "Locke and Key," and Jim McCann was definitely feeling the love for "Return of the Dapper Men." Meanwhile, Mark Waid used a lot of capital letters to sound off about a lack of Boom! Studios titles on the list. ("I Thought You Would Be Funnier" did nab a nod for Best Humor Publication, though.")

The greatest retweets of the day list contains other jewels as well today, with a rousing debate about who would win in a fight between Black Canary and Black Widow and some fine advice to artists from Simon Spurrier. Look, learn and see if you reacted to "American Idol" the same way Ty Templeton did after the jump.

DESCRelativity Media has announced they’ve closed a deal with “28 Weeks Later” director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to direct a reboot of James O’Barr’s “The Crow.” Fresnadillo will also be co-writing the script once a second writer has been hired.

Relativity is teaming up with Apaches Entertainment for the film. Casting has not yet been announced, but they hope to start filming this autumn.

In an official press release, producer Edward R. Pressman stated: “The original Crow was groundbreaking cinema; its gothic visual and musical ideas influenced a generation and cinema itself. With Juan Carlos, we have every confidence that his new Crow will have a similar impact on the contemporary audience.”

Hal Jordan's relationship with Carol Ferris has been plagued by their respective cosmic costumed identities in the pages of DC comic books for years, but as far as Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's onscreen relationship in June 17's "Green Lantern" goes, it seems as though the pair will only have Jordan's super powered persona to deal with. According to Lively, however, her character could always wind up succumbing to the malevolent energies -- and crazy outfits -- of Star Sapphire in an upcoming sequel.

MTV News caught up with Lively at a recent press event where the 23-year-old actress affirmed that the movie is stocked with Easter eggs for fans and that she could eventually don the Star Sapphire mantle provided fans like the film.

With the release of “Thor” fast approaching next month, another clip from the movie has been released. And this time, the Asgardian warrior isn't the only superhero making an appearance.

The clip from IGN, which is a little less than a minute long, shows Thor doing some down and dirty fighting (and it’s not just down and dirty because part of it is in the mud). But the video isn’t just about Chris Hemsworth strutting his stuff, fantastic though his action sequence may be. If you watch closely, you’ll also get to see a quick cameo of the arrow-shooting Hawkeye -- and no, I’m not talking Alan Alda!
