Tom HardyIt's not an official photo of Tom Hardy as Bane, but the first shot of the "Inception" actor on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises" appears to have found its way online, courtesy of a fan.

Earlier this morning, Twitter user Ash Harper posted a photo of himself with Hardy, captioned, "Me and Tom Hardy (Bane) on set on the new Batman film!" And while a fan photo generally doesn't qualify as headline-grabbing material, the photo is worth a peek for anyone wondering about the visual element of Christopher Nolan's take on Bane.

The photo shows a clearly bulked-up Hardy with a shaved head — eerily reminiscent of his turn as the terrifying, real-life criminal Charles Bronson in "Bronson" (minus the mustache). Read More...

By now “Smallville” fans know to expect Booster Gold and Blue Beetle from this Friday’s new episode. But as the DC heroes tapped for appearance become more cult-revered and the show’s remaining airtime runs thin, decade-long disciples have got to wonder what signs of evolution are in store for in Clark.

EW’s Inside TV blog has a small list of subtle spoilers to offer, although we don’t think they’ll spoil much of anything for fans fevered to see their favorite hero’s much-prepped transformation.

As hinted at in trailers, the episode is said to feature an iconic phonebooth transformation, although not to the extent we’re used to seeing. Read More...

The "Doctor Who" community lost a treasured part of the long-running series' history yesterday with the death of actress Elisabeth Sladen.

Sladen portrayed Sarah-Jane Smith during the 1973-1976 seasons of the series, and later returned as the popular character during the modern series, eventually spinning off into her own series, "The Sarah-Jane Adventures." There's been no shortage of fond memories of Sladen and Sarah-Jane Smith shared online over the last 24 hours — including a touching farewell from her former "Doctor Who" co-star Tom Baker that accompanied this classic BBC photo:

For many people, Lynda Carter is Wonder Woman. That's why people are interested to know what the star of the 1970s television series thinks about the new “Wonder Woman” series starring Adrianne Palicki.

In an interview on a recent episode of “The Talk,” Carter was asked what she thought of the new costume and whether she'll make a cameo in the new series.

“You really want to know?” Carter said. “I like my costume the best. They were trying to update with the way we’re all doing leggings now and skinny jeans. I think it’s kind of trying to do that.” Read More...

PriestLast night in New York City, "Priest" director Scott Stewart and star Paul Bettany made an appearance at Sony’s Lincoln Square theater to show some clips of their vampire action flick and do a Q&A sponsored by Fangoria magazine.

While the sizzle reel and two of the clips we saw last night were also shown at WonderCon, we also saw the animated introduction by Genndy Tartakovsky, which was in 2-D.

The super-stylized intro by the artist behind "The Powerpuff Girls" and "Samurai Jack" describes the war between vampires and humans and how the priest-warriors came to be. Read More...

Doctor Strange ComicAll things Marvel may fall under Disney’s massive, mouse-eared umbrella as of New Years Eve 2009, but the films of Marvel Studios are still handled independently by their various distributors.

The Avengers” will be the first distributed by Disney, making it apropos that Marvel Studio chief Kevin Feige should give his latest interview on the expansion of Marvel’s movie world post-“Avengers” to D23, the quarterly magazine of The Official Disney Fanclub.

Unless you’re a Mouseketeer though, you may not know the issue doesn’t come out for another couple weeks. However, IGN scored an advance look at the relevant news. Read More...

First Class"Doctor Who" fans tweeted en masse yesterday to commemorate actress Elisabeth Sladen, who passed away this week at the age of 63. Writers and artists both noted the impact she had on them as Sarah-Jane Smith in the series, and I've retweeted the likes of Edgar Wright, Paul Cornell and Pia Guerra, who all remembered Sladen fondly.

The feed brought speculation about what's to come in 2011 as well. Bryan Lee O'Malley got a little snarky about "X-Men: First Class," Robert Kirkman expects great things from "The Walking Dead" in Season 2. Find out why and what Brian Michael Bendis had to say to "Internet babies" down below.

Elisabeth Sladen - Doctor WhoDespite this weekend's premiere of the new "Doctor Who" season, today was a sad day for longtime Whovians.

As reported by BBC News, "Doctor Who" actress Elisabeth Sladen has died at age 63. The actress played a fan-favorite companion to The Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, appearing throughout the 1973-1976 seasons of "Doctor Who" and recently starring in her own spinoff series, "The Sarah Jane Adventures." Sladen also appeared in the modern incarnation of "Doctor Who" alongside former star David Tennant.

While Sladen's passing will certainly be felt around the "Doctor Who" universe, the looming premiere of the latest season — and all of the mainstream hype surrounding it — serves as a great reminder of the growing legacy shared by Sladen and other members of the "Doctor Who" family. Read More...
