The Robert Schwentke-directed movie “R.I.P.D.” has been having some setbacks, but those might be problems of the past. Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges has been tapped as a possible actor for the movie.
According to Deadline, Bridges is in negotiations with Universal Pictures.
Of course, nothing is official yet, and we can’t say for sure that Bridges will be in the film. But it does mean they’re talking, and Bridges’s star power could be a big boost for the project.
If you’ve been watching news related to the movie version of “R.I.P.D.,” you’ll know that actor Zach Galifianakis dropped out and there’s been some worry about star Ryan Reynolds leaving as well because of his busy schedule. Reynolds has even said he’ll be in “R.I.P.D.” or “Deadpool,” but not both.
“R.I.P.D.” (which stands for "Rest In Peace Department") is a 2003 comic book series by Peter Lenkov and Lucas Marangon, and follows undead cops on the search for a murderer. Originally published by Dark Horse Comics, it’s been described as a “supernatural comedy.”
If all goes well, "R.I.P.D." is scheduled for a 2012 premiere in theaters.
