"X-Men: First Class" hits theaters in just under a month, taking Professor X and Magneto back to their early days and introducing a new group of mutants to the live-action "X-Men" universe.

However, while fans of Marvel's famous mutants might be well acquainted with some of the characters in the film, there are a few new mutants joining the fray — and a few characters who received a tweak or two on their way to the big screen. That's why we're thrilled to offer you an exclusive video introduction to three of the "First Class" mutants: Banshee, Havok, and Beast.

Played by Caleb Landry Jones, the mutant known as Banshee is actually Sean Cassidy, whose power manifests itself in a powerful "sonic scream" that he can use as a weapon or — as you can see in the introduction trailer — a method of flight. Read More...

Men in Black 3Recent troubles for "Men In Black III" appear to be in the rearview mirror now, as some new set photos reveal that filming is not only underway, but many of the project's big names are on site and doing what they do best.

The new photos, which debuted on Solaria Sun, feature franchise star Will Smith on set at Coney Island in New York City, sporting the Agents' trademark black suits. Along with shots of a host of extras and celebrity lookalikes, the photos also give us our first glimpse at actor Jermaine Clement as Boris, the film's villain.

And while the photo of Clement is interesting, it's the motorcycle he's seated on that had us buzzing around Splash Page HQ. Read More...

Jaimie AlexanderIt seems just about everything for the new “Wonder Woman” show can be controversial to comics fans — from her outfit to the actress hired — but Jaimie Alexander, who plays Lady Sif in “Thor,” has pretty strong opinions of her own about Diana Prince. In fact, she feels so strongly about the character that she once turned down the role.

Speaking to FilmCritic, Alexander said, “Look, if I got approached to play Wonder Woman, which has happened once or twice, I would have to say, ‘Look, let's take this serious. Let's make her a positive role model. Let's make this a non-campy version of her.’ Because I haven't seen that done yet.”

An admitted comics fan, Alexander doesn’t think highly of how Wonder Woman has been portrayed so far. Read More...

Neil GaimanToday turned out to be a popular day for being angry at things, as Neil Gaiman pointed to a Star Tribune article in which a Minnesota politician singled him out for being a burden on the state and called the writer a "pencil-necked little weasel." Needless to say, many folks in the comics community disagree with that characterization (I've always found Gaiman to be a fine, gentlemanly fellow) and tweeted their support.

Elsewhere, you probably didn't expect rising gas prices to be associated with sketch rates, but Terry Moore broached the topic in his feed. So much for the Katchoo piece I wanted to commission.

Anyway, check out the controversy after the jump. It's down there with some rad artwork and Stan Lee's recent discovery about "Thor" director Kenneth Branagh.

Spider-ManUsually, only The Daily Bugle’s Peter Parker can score photos of Spider-Man in action, but this weekend, a few sites had a much easier time landing shots of Peter Parker in action on the NYC set of “Amazing Spider-Man”. Now that production on the film has begun its NYC leg, we can expect to see photos in a somewhat steady stream.

Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and other not-as-identifiable cast members of the anticipated Marc Webb-directed reboot were snapped while shooting a Manhattan-set scene near the Hearst Tower, currently masquerading as the “Oscorp Industries” building. Read More...
