Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesWay back in October 2009, we brought you the news that Leonardo, Donatello, and the rest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were getting a new animated series to go along with the planned feature film blending live action and CGI effects. Now it looks like the Heroes In A Half Shell will also return to their true roots with a brand new comic book series, too.

IDW Publishing and Nickelodeon recently announced plans for a new series that will kick off this August and feature a creative team led by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. While the first story arc will introduce a brand new villain to the TMNT universe — a mutant alley cat named "Old Hob" — all the regulars will also play a role in the rebooted TMNT adventures.

In the official announcement of the comic book series, there's also mention of a new premiere date for the upcoming CGI "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series, now scheduled to air in late 2012. Read More...

The Book of MormonIt was impossible to watch the Twitter Report feed last night without catching a glimpse of everyone being affected by the devastating tornado that tore through Joplin, Mo. With a climbing death toll in the dozens and horrendous photos emerging, it was good to hear accounts from those whose families and friends were safe. Nevertheless, the thoughts of the Report are with everyone impacted.

The night brought some of what we usually hope to find as well, though. Christos Gage sounded off with his micro-review of "The Book of Mormon" on Broadway, while Joe Eisma posted some beautiful Power Girl sketch work, and Jeff Katz kept the evening's "Celebrity Apprentice" commentary alive. It's a mixed bag today, but you can read it down below.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for May 23, 2011. Read More...

The Dark Knight RisesJust a few days after the launch of the official “The Dark Knight Rises” website and big reveal of Tom Hardy as Bane, more news about the next Batman movie has broken. Three new actors have been added to the cast, though we’re only told the role of one of them.

According to Variety, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King are all onboard Christopher Nolan’s final Batman production. Modine, whose credits include “Full Metal Jacket” and “Any Given Sunday,” has been cast to play a character named Nixon. Ironically, Modine played a character named “Joker” in “Full Metal Jacket.”

However, it’s unknown who or what Conti and King will be playing in "The Dark Knight Rises." Read More...

"Green Lantern" hits theaters in just a few weeks now, so it's no surprise that we're seeing bunches of new "Green Lantern" trailers, television spots, and other promotional footage popping up around the 'net lately. What is a bit of a surprise, however, is how much new footage we're seeing in the aforementioned teasers.

For example, check out the new theatrical trailer for "Green Lantern" that arrived online this weekend:

Posted at Yahoo Movies, the new trailer is narrated by Geoffrey Rush, who voices the beaked Green Lantern named Tomar-Re. Read More...

You probably don't need any help from us to get excited for "The Dark Knight Rises" and the new image of Tom Hardy as Bane, but just in case you're not entirely familiar with the latest addition to Christopher Nolan's gritty Batman universe, we've got you covered.

After the image of Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" hit the 'net, I gathered ten shots of Bane ranging from the terrible (his "Batman & Robin" cameo) to the awesome (Dan Luvisi's "Secret Six" comic book covers) that offer a peek at some of his various incarnations in comics, film, cartoons, and video games. You can check out our Bane image gallery by clicking on the image below:

The release date of "X-Men: First Class" is getting closer and closer, and even though I don't love the new trailers as much as I did the first one, I'm still psyched about the movie — especially hearing the cast talk about it!

The lovely Jennifer Lawrence stopped by MTV News recently to explain why taking on Mystique wasn't actually a no-brainer, and how it felt to step into Rebecca Romijn's very pretty and very hard-to-fill shoes.

"It was a brainer," Lawrence said about her decision to take the role, adding that she first had to familiarize herself with the world of X-Men before reading the script. Read More...

X-Men: First ClassWith Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class” hitting theaters soon, we’re getting teased by more trailers and movie clips to whet our appetites and make us want to watch the real deal. The latest release is a 50-second clip starring Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence).

Posted at Access Hollywood, the clip shows the two mutants discussing how much they’d like to be “normal.”

In the clip, Hank McCoy, a.k.a. Beast, reveals that he's been working on a serum that will affect how they look, but won’t mess with their abilities. Mystique expresses an interest in this, wanting to know if it will work on her, but it seems that’s not the only thing she’s interested in. Read More...

Tom Hardy - BaneNo matter how many casting announcements and set photos we see, it's the first image of an actor in costume that really makes a comic book movie feel like it's truly going to happen — and for better or worse, it's also what helps fans decide how to set their expectations for the final product.

Today we got our first look at Tom Hardy as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," Christopher Nolan's final installment in his blockbuster Batman movie franchise. The image debuted as part of a viral marketing campaign for the upcoming third film in the franchise, which sees Hardy playing the brilliant, brutal villain known as Bane.

So, now that the image is out there, the question becomes: what do you think of it? Read More...

You'll certainly excuse us if our excitement over the first look at Tom Hardy as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" has been tempered a bit due to some bad news that just hit the wire: former professional wrestler Randy "Macho Man" Savage died earlier today after a car accident in Tampa, Florida.

The accident was first reported by TMZ, and while there will certainly be many fond remembrances of Savage and his celebrated wrestling career posted around the 'net today, the former Slim Jim spokesman has a special place in the hearts of comic book fans, too. As you might recall, Savage played wrestler Bone Saw McGraw in 2002's "Spider-Man," the first film in Sam Raimi's blockbuster movie franchise based on the Marvel webslinger. Read More...

Christopher Nolan's first two Batman movies were not only great films, but they also set a new standard for viral marketing campaigns. With today's launch of "The Dark Knight Rises" website, it appears that they've moved the bar even higher, and revealed the first look at the character everyone's wondering about: Tom Hardy as Bane.

Bane

Like all good marketing campaigns, the big payoff was revealed only after fans conducted some sleuthing worthy of the Dark Knight himself, and it all started with the launch of an official website at TheDarkKnightRises.com. Read More...
