Way back in October 2009, we brought you the news that Leonardo, Donatello, and the rest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were getting a new animated series to go along with the planned feature film blending live action and CGI effects. Now it looks like the Heroes In A Half Shell will also return to their true roots with a brand new comic book series, too.
IDW Publishing and Nickelodeon recently announced plans for a new series that will kick off this August and feature a creative team led by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. While the first story arc will introduce a brand new villain to the TMNT universe — a mutant alley cat named "Old Hob" — all the regulars will also play a role in the rebooted TMNT adventures.
In the official announcement of the comic book series, there's also mention of a new premiere date for the upcoming CGI "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series, now scheduled to air in late 2012. Read More...
