This is shaping up to be a week of delightful chats with dreamy "Avengers" actors for yours truly. First, MTV News snagged some fun "Avengers" details from Captain America himself, Chris Evans at the Movie Awards on Sunday, and yesterday I happened upon a surprising, but welcome attendee at the "Super 8" premiere: actor Tom Hiddleston, a.k.a. Loki.
So, given Evans' earlier assessment of the "Avengers" cast in costume, what does Asgard's chief mischief-maker think of seeing the superhero team assembled?
"I've seen everybody in costume. What was it like? It's great," he laughed. "It's everything everyone has been imagining except it's better." Read more...

The "Wonder Woman" television series might never find its way to the small screen, but I'm probably not alone in looking forward to the inevitable online debut — official or otherwise — of the show's pilot episode. Until then, however, we'll have to make do with snippets of footage like the one that popped up on the 'net today.
The short, seven-second "Wonder Woman" teaser was posted by Bleeding Cool, and features a brief scene of Adrianne Palicki in costume walking toward the camera. The teaser opens and closes with the "Wonder Woman" logo.
While there's not a lot there, it's our first look at any real footage from the ill-fated project, which NBC passed on last month. Read more...
Last month, it was reported that the list of potential directors for "The Wolverine" was down to eight names. Now it looks like that list is one name shorter.
Speaking to Digital Spy, "Never Let Me go" director Mark Romanek said he won't be behind the camera when Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the clawed Canadian mutant.
"That's just one of those stories that floated around," he said of the May report that put him on "The Wolverine" short list. "I was on their list, I received the script months ago. It didn't seem like my kind of thing." Read more...

Everyone who's been enjoying "Uncanny X-Men" will be in for some disappointment this October, as Marvel has announced that issue #544 will end the series. Mourners can wallow in their sorrow together watching "X-Men: First Class," I guess. But even that film received some criticism in our feed today.
You know what did get a lot of great buzz, though, last night? J.J. Abrams' "Super 8." Both Jon Favreau and Edgar Wright gave their blessings to the film. Find out why and see what Ron Marz likes about DC's massive reboot after the jump.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for June 9, 2011. Read more...

Ryan Reynolds will make his debut as Hal Jordan next week in "Green Lantern," but for the Marvel-inclined masses, there's another upcoming Reynolds role that's foremost on their minds: mouthy mercenary Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool.
During the press junket for "Green Lantern," MTV News made sure to ask Reynolds about the status of Deadpool's solo film, which recently snagged visual-effects veteran Tim Miller as its director.
"I love Tim," Reynolds told MTV News. "Tim is someone who we all vetted through and through. He's a guy who captures the spirit of it, and he's also an incredible visual artist." Read more...

We still have a while to wait before "The Walking Dead" shambles back to television screens, but much like last season, AMC seems intent on keeping fans sated with new images and other sneak peeks between now and the Season Two premiere.
Yesterday, the network debuted two new images from the now-filming second season of the series, and as expected, they're pretty gruesome in the most zombie-tastic way.
"At this moment, I'm standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew," wrote series Executive Producer/Writer/Director Frank Darabont on AMC's official "Walking Dead" blog. "Across the board, there are none better. It's great to be shooting again. I think we've embarked on a great season." Read more...

“Captain America: The First Avenger” will be hitting theaters next month, and star Chris Evans still hasn’t seen the final product. What he has seen impresses him, though — but he’s careful not to weigh in on the final product too early.
“I’ve seen quite a good amount [of the movie]," Evans told MTV News. Read more...

It's been almost a year since our last update on the planned reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie franchise, but there's apparently been some recent movement on the project, with Paramount hiring a new writing duo to bring the heroes in a half-shell back to the big screen.
"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" scribes Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec have been hired to rewrite the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" script initially penned by "Iron Man" writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, according to Deadline. The pair previously collaborated on Louis Letterier's upcoming film "Now You See Me."
The most recent reports had the film pegged to be a hybrid of live-action and CGI effects, with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form producing the film. Read more...

The relaunch of the “X-Men” franchise has received a lot of praise since opening last weekend, but it’s far from the only reboot hitting screens over the next few years. “Daredevil,” which was made into a movie in 2003, is also being set up for a big feature-film comeback — and it may have snagged a hot writer to help it along.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad Caleb Kane, a writer and producer from “Fringe,” has been tapped to write the reboot’s script. It won’t just be any script, though: the movie will be based on Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s celebrated "Born Again" arc from the comics. Read more...

While "Green Lantern," "Captain America," and "X-Men: First Class" were all represented in a big way at this year's MTV Movie Awards, those weren't the only comic book movies to have a presence at the big show. "Easy A" actress Emma Stone also made an appearance to present an award — and win one — fresh off the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man."
"We actually just wrapped," Stone told MTV News of the upcoming reboot of the "Spider-Man" movie franchise. Read more...
