E3 brought bucketfuls of new video game-related announcements this week, including a new Nintendo console and prices for Sony's new handheld system. Some terrible E3-vicinity news showed up last night from Marc Bernardin, though, and it sounds like someone ran off with his laptop. We at Splash Page hope the perpetrator meets with some justice posthaste.
More "X-Men: First Class" commentary continued pouring in as well. Down below you'll find Mark Millar's take, as well as an unabashed show of appreciation for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and observations about LeBron James.

With the summer of the superhero movies currently underway, MTV News has been asking the films' cast and creative teams what makes their movies stand out from the rest. Speaking to Ryan Reynolds at the MTV Movie Awards, we got his take on the uniqueness of "Green Lantern."
When asked what separates his movie from the rest of the pack, Reynolds replied, “For me, what attracted me to it most was the space-epic nature of it. I just loved that you had this film that was an origin story, that’s not really starting in the third act like a lot of them do.” Read more...

“Blade” has been a comic book, a movie trilogy, and a live-action television series, and now it’s going to be an anime, too. Marvel has been giving some of its popular comic book characters the anime treatment for a while now, and it looks like “Blade” is the next to debut... in Japan.
In order to advertise the soon-to-be-airing anime, a Japanese trailer and some character designs have been released on the project's official website. The character designs include Blade and Deacon Frost, as well as new characters Makoto, Noah van Helsing, and his dog, Razor.
Even if you can’t speak Japanese, you can still appreciate the action of the trailer, which includes fangs, fighting, and a blood-red moon. Also, you may recognize a few words and terms! “Vampire” and “vampire hunter,” anyone? Read more...

Back in February, we gave you an early look at McFarlane Toys' new line of action figures based on "The Walking Dead" television series and comic before they debuted at Toy Fair 2011. Today, we have two more exclusive previews of figures from "The Walking Dead" — including one particular fan-favorite character you won't find in the comics.
In the AMC television series, Norman Reedus plays Daryl Dixon, a crossbow-wielding survivalist who has become one of the most popular characters in the show. As you can tell from the exclusive images we're debuting here on Splash Page, the figure is pretty great likeness of Daryl — right down to the dead squirrels hanging from his belt. Read more...

John Dykstra, the visual effects supervisor for “X-Men: First Class,” may soon have the title of director under his sleeve. According to a new report, he might get behind the camera for a movie based on Jeff Lemire's “Tales From the Farm.”
Variety has indicated that the film is set to be re-titled “Super Zero," and a screenplay has already been written by John Carr, with Alec Chorches and Steven Gilder attached to produce. The movie will be live action, but it will use some visual effects, too.
The producers plan to push the film heavily at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego. Read more...

You don't need to be a die-hard fan of the Man of Steel to get excited about today's release of "Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1978-2006)."
A massive collection that features the last three decades of big-screen, live-action Superman adventures (everything from "Superman: The Movie" through the recent "Superman Returns"), the new anthology gives the high-def treatment to all five of the films, as well as alternate versions of "Superman: The Movie" and a special cut of "Superman II." The collection also includes a long list of documentaries and bonus features that will make comics and movie fans drool.
In the run-up to the release of the anthology, I spoke to celebrated "Superman: The Movie" director Richard Donner, who made the world believe a man could fly more than 30 years ago. Read more...

Apple butted heads with E3 yesterday, announcing their new iOS 5 for iPhones and iPads just as video game makers began rolling out their big reveals for the summer. Greg Rucka seemed to be no big fan of Apple's iCloud service, while Stephen Colbert expects the new iPhone operating system to open up opportunities.
Grumblings about shamed U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner were also easy to come across last night. Mark Waid and John Rogers swapped opinions on the matter, while buzz about "X-Men: First Class" continued to be far more positive. Check out what Chloe Moretz and David Hahn thought—and who's been trying to hypnotize himself—after the jump.

As much as I would like the entirety of this post to be about how fun and charming and totally dreamy "Captain America" and "Avengers" star Chris Evans is, I'm pretty sure Splash Page editor Rick Marshall will frown upon that plan, so...
MTV News had a moment with Evans after he finished his official MTV Movie Award presenter duties on Sunday, and the conversation inevitably turned toward Joss Whedon's highly anticipated superhero ensemble, "The Avengers." We asked Evans a few burning questions — for example, are he and his fellow cast members enjoying the exotic film location of Albuquerque, New Mexico? And more seriously, have they filmed any group action scenes yet?
"New Mexico is great!" Evans said of the production's location. "Go there. No, don't," he said, changing his mind. Read more...

With "Green Lantern" hitting theaters in just a few weeks, there's no time like the present to get acquainted with ring-wielding hero Hal Jordan and his supporting cast.
During the MTV Movie Awards, "Green Lantern" star Ryan Reynolds took a little time to introduce the props from the upcoming film that made cameos on the red carpet.
"That's Abin Sur," Reynolds said of the corpse of Hal's predecessor, the purple-skinned Green Lantern whose ring finds its way to Hal's finger. "I don't think he's going to make it." Read more...

All week leading up to the MTV Movie Awards, we brought you previews of each of the categories in which comic book movies — or their cast members — were nominated for awards. So, now that the the credits have rolled, let's look at how they fared, shall we?
From "Best Villain" to "Biggest Badass Star," comic book movies were represented in five of the show's 13 categories, and ended up winning two of them. "Kick-Ass" star Chloe Grace Moretz was a double winner on the night, taking home the trophies for "Best Breakout Star" and "Biggest Badass Star" for her performance as the pint-sized vigilante Hit-Girl.
While we're a little disappointed that some of the other nominees from comic book movies lost out, it's good to know that Moretz' stand-out performance won over fans. Heck, she even managed to beat "Twilight" actor Xavier Samuel for the "Breakout Star" award — which is no small feat, given the love MTV fans always show the uber-popular vampire franchise.
