“Green Lantern” will be making its way to theaters later this month, but a new, minute-long clip has been released showing Hal Jordan on the planet Oa as he learns how to fly.
Coming from Yahoo! Movies, the new clip features Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan — but he isn’t alone in the clip. Hal has Tomar-Re there to explain exactly what’s going on. Read more...

"Conan the Barbarian" hits theaters this summer, reinventing the popular Robert E. Howard character for a new generation of movie audiences. Given Conan's long history in the comics world (including his ongoing adventures in various Dark Horse Comics series), we've been closely following the progress of director Marcus Nispel's big-screen reboot of the sword-swinging barbarian franchise.
In the new film, Jason Momoa takes over the role of Conan, and we have your exclusive first look at a new character poster featuring the actor as the iconic barbarian. You can get a look at the poster below, and also check out a few other new character posters that debuted online today, including new looks at the characters played by Rose McGowan, Ron Perlman, Stephen Lang, and Rachel Nichols. Chloe Moretz walked away with a pair of wins at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards last night. The "Kick-Ass" star earned top honors in the categories of "Best Breakout Star" and "Biggest Badass Star." "Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar was only too happy to tweet some congratulations her way, and Moretz made sure to spread the love around.
In other topics, Todd Nauck shared a striking visual case for a potential comic book inspiration behind Lady Gaga's pale look. His evidence and Stan Lee on not appearing in "X-Men: First Class" ranked among our favorite posts last night. Check them out along with some assurance that "X-23" will continue after the jump.

"X-Men: First Class," the fifth film in the X-Men big-screen franchise, hit theaters this weekend and took audiences even deeper into the origins of Marvel's mutant team. The origins of the movie itself, however, lie between the pages of almost 50 years of X-Men comic books, which the film draws heavily upon in order to craft its own tale of how the X-Men came to be.
Given all of that source material, we decided to take a look at just which elements of the comics made it onto the screen, and how the movie follows — or in some cases, takes a twist on — those classic X-Men stories.
If you haven't seen the film yet, consider this your SPOILER WARNING. We'll be discussing details of the plot throughout this guide. Read more...

"Green Lantern" wasn't the only upcoming blockbuster to make its presence known on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet this year. Marvel's star-spangled superhero, Captain America, was represented there, too.
By now most of us have seen Captain America's shield in various photos and/or its onscreen appearance in "Iron Man 2," but you haven't seen it at the MTV Movie Awards, so elegantly displayed as it is today. Am I right? All that adamantium, shining bright from Universal City... not to mention a bad-ass HYDRA motorcycle, too!

No, I don't know how we got the motorcycle on the carpet or who parked it there, but I'm going to endeavor to find out. Read more...

Here's a hint for fans of actor James McAvoy: he doesn't want you to ask him which superpower he'd love to have.
That's the mistake MTV Movies' Josh Horowitz made in the latest edition of After Hours. During an interview with McAvoy for "X-Men: First Class," Horowitz made the terrible faux pas, prompting an arduous quest to improve his interview skills.
Step One: Hit the gym. Read more...

Hal Jordan's "Green Lantern" predecessor Abin Sur is everywhere these days. He started his tour de force at San Diego Comic-Con, popped up again in the comics recently (in "Green Lantern" #64), and he makes regular appearances in many of the "Green Lantern" trailers — and now he's at the MTV Movie Awards, too!
In case you haven't been glued to MTV for our Movie Awards pre-show, you just missed yet another Abin Sur sighting on our very own red carpet, plus the actual Green Lantern used to power up Hal's ring (as well as Captain America's shield and a HYDRA motorcycle).

Similarly to how he was displayed at SDCC, the fallen Green Lantern Corps member (played by "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones" alum Temuera Morrison) is lying in the coffin-like escape pod that brought him to Earth. Read more...

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards kick off tomorrow evening, and prep has been well underway all week for the big event.
Amid all of the pre-show chaos, there's been a steady stream of behind-the-scenes photos finding their way to MTV.com — including some shots of the seat cards indicating where many of the actors, musicians, and other honored guests will be sitting in the Gibson Amphitheatre.
Looking over the photos, it suddenly struck us that there's a pretty impressive comics-style crossover event unfolding right in front of our eyes. Read more...

"X-Men: First Class" hit theaters this weekend, and while reviews have been positive so far, the real measure of success for a film like this will be what you — the fans — think about it.
Did you love the swinging '60s adventure with Charles Xavier and his team of mutant superheroes? Was the look back at the origins of the team everything you hoped it would be? What did you think of all the new mutants — and the new cast of actors playing old favorites?
We want to know what you think of director Matthew Vaughn's "X-Men" prequel! Read more...

FROM MTV MOVIES: Now that we've introduced you to the mutants of "X-Men: First Class" and some "X-Men: First Class" Easter Eggs, movie reviewers are saying you might want to take that relationship to the next level. Heralded as the best installment in the franchise since the Bryan Singer-directed "X2," Matthew Vaughn's take on the "X-Men" story is said to be both smart and action-packed.
At the top of the pile of praise are leads James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, whom reviewers are commending for their roles whether they liked the film or not. The rest of the supporting cast, from Jennifer Lawrence to Kevin Bacon, are receiving plenty of love as well. Dissenters might find flaws with the movie's pacing or the way it strays from the previous films' and comics' mythology, but the underlying message is that this is the summer blockbuster that fans have been waiting for.
