Cowboys & aliensThere's just over a month until "Cowboys & Aliens" hits theaters, and that means the marketing campaign will be switching into high gear in the near future. We got our first taste of what's to come today, thanks to a new one-sheet promo poster for the film.

The new poster features stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, and has the pair staring off into the distance, as if they're wondering, "Hey, what's that in the distance? Is that... an alien?"

Okay, maybe that's not what they're thinking in the photo — but you can see it for yourself below and form your own opinions. Read More...

It's no secret that we're eagerly anticipating the return of "The Walking Dead," AMC's hit television series based on Robert Kirkman's long-running comic book about survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Sadly, it looks like we still have a few months to go before Rick Grimes and his ragtag crew return to the small screen, but the network has offered up some video that filming is well underway for the second season.

Posted over on AMC's official "Walking Dead" blog, the behind-the-scenes video offers some tidbits from the first day of filming in Atlanta, which apparently involves the cast members spending a lot of time under abandoned cars. Read More...

Super 8Even the tweets expressing dissatisfaction over J.J. Abrams' "Super 8" seem to come with conciliatory fondness for the director's homage to Steven Spielberg. Humberto Ramos became the latest to chime in last night, and though he didn't think Abrams achieved greatness, the film did make him happy.

Meanwhile at another screening, Adam Hughes got psyched to see the twentieth anniversary of "The Rocketeer" celebrated. Then there was Neil Gaiman, who's all giddy over an anniversary of his own. Find out what that is, as well as what Phil Hester thinks Andy Diggle is trying to pitch to Marvel and who fell victim to a a "Game of Thrones" spoiler down below.

DESCThe comic book series “100 Bullets” may have ended its ten-year run in 2009, but it could have new life in the form of a television series.

Deadline is reporting that David S. Goyer will write and executive produce the series for Showtime. Warner Brothers TV will also be producing.

Brian Azzarello, who wrote the "100 Bullets" comic book series, previously alluded to a possible cable television adaptation when speaking to MTV News in 2009, saying, “Television -- there's an idea! That's all I'll say. Television... or maybe something that's not just TV." Read More...

Lucy PunchFor weeks now, "Powers" co-creator Brian Michael Bendis has been teasing fans with vague reports on the casting for the FX television series based on his hit comic. Now we finally have a big piece of official casting news, with actress Lucy Punch cast as Officer Deena Pilgrim.

While Punch might not be the actress many fans were initially pulling for ("Battlestar Galactica" star Katee Sackhoff was an early favorite among fans), her resume includes a long list of films ("Hot Fuzz," "Dinner With Schmucks," etc.) that should have people feeling good about "Powers" impending arrival on the small screen. Her status as a relative unknown could also afford her more ability to make the role her own — something we'd all like to see in the much-anticipated, character-driven series.

According to Deadline, which first reported the casting, filming on "Powers" is slated to begin this summer in Chicago. Read More...

"Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" finally made its Broadway premiere last week, with actor and musician Reeve Carney playing nerd-turned-superhero Peter Parker in the production.

Carney recently dropped by MTV News HQ to chat about opening night, how the show has changed from its initial run, and what was going through his head when every day seemed to bring more negative attention for "Turn Off The Dark."

"Opening night was special because it was easy to make it fresh," he said when asked about whether it was easy to make opening night special after such a long preview run. "When you do a long run of a show — funny enough, even though we just opened it has been a pretty long running show — you struggle to find ways to keep it fresh." Read More...

Yes, you read that headline correctly, and yes, it is possibly the most ridiculous headline I have written in my entire career. The best part? It happened.

Apparently, "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith was one of several actors who participated in a recent event called "24 Hour Plays" in Los Angeles. For his part in the event, which tasks writers with scripting a play in one night and having actors perform it the next, Smith played a "very confused Batman" who wakes up on an autopsy table.

Matt Smith

There's a full report on the event and Smith's performance over at The Telegraph, while The Daily Mail has a bunch of great photos of Smith and some of the other actors. Oh, and Smith's take on Batman wasn't the only comics-friendly performance during the show. Read More...

TransformersIt's always fun when a package from Hasbro arrives at MTV Splash Page HQ, and today's delivery of "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" toys was no exception.

As you've probably learned by now, I don't mind setting aside my pride for the opportunity to show off all of the cool stuff that these packages contain (and if you haven't learned that, I encourage you to check out the "Thor" and "Iron Man 2" toy write-ups). However, since the bulk of our "Dark Of The Moon" coverage will be happening on MTV Movies Blog, I asked Movies Blog editor Josh Wigler to star in the necessary — and unabashedly nerdy — swag photo. Christina HendricksThe “Wonder Woman” television show was unable to launch, but a potential “Wonder Woman” movie remains a possibility. Danish director, producer and writer Nicolas Winding Refn ("Bronson") has had his eye on the project for some time, and he knows what actress he’d like to have star in it.

Speaking to New York Magazine at the U.S. premiere of his new movie, "Drive," Refn said that he wants "Mad Men" actress Christina Hendricks for the role. Hendricks was also in “Drive” and has already been mentioned in some “Wonder Woman” rumors.

“If I ever get to do [the “Wonder Woman” movie], she's going to be it,” Refn said about the redheaded actress. Read More...
