Comic book movies and vampire stories have dominated Hollywood of late, so what happens when you combine the two into one tale? If you're the folks at Warner Bros., you get "Undying Love."
Heat Vision reports that the WB, Stephen L'Heureux and Benderspink (run by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink) are producing an adaptation of Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman's recently launched Image Comics series "Undying Love," a vampire tale with all the blood and romance you might expect, but also with a healthy heaping of Chinese monster lore for good measure.
"Undying Love" starts out as a fairly reasonable and relatable "boy falls for girl" love story. Except in this case, the boy is a former soldier, and the girl just so happens to be a blood-craving vampire. In order for the two of them to be together, the soldier must confront the vampire who created the love of his life, taking on an army of Hong Kong's deadliest monsters in the process.
It's still early days yet for the "Undying Love" adaptation, with no director or cast set. But here's a sign that the project's in good hands: Coker and Freedman, who co-created the comic book together, are also writing the movie's script. At the very least, the adaptation is coming from people who know a thing or two about the source material.
