To get people in gear for the second season of “The Walking Dead,” creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman is giving us a tour of the film set. The season won’t start until October, but Kirkman has a few things to show us first.
In the behind-the-scenes video (which we spotted on Spinoff Online), Kirkman shows us around the "Dead" set.
“We’re back here in Atlanta, back at it, making magic happen," he says. "Although I’m not doing very much of the work — I’m walking around watching.”
The whole video has a joking, lighthearted tone. Kirkman jokes that the antique RV gets seventy percent of the budget and shows us how the building behind him gets air conditioning. Inside the building, he has to be more quiet because they might be filming, but he still pokes at a zombie doll.
Later, in front of the cameras, he says, “You wouldn’t believe the amazing things I’m seeing on these monitors right here that we can’t show you.” Then we get a quick flash at the monitors, but good luck seeing what’s on them.
Besides that, you can watch Kirkman trying on a sheriff’s hat and holding a gun and meeting a man in full undead costume.
“I’m hoping that we’re really going to wow you guys when the show premieres in October,” Kirkman tells us. “I think that we’ve got some really cool stuff planned and I think we’re on our way for this season to actually surpass the first season as far as coolness goes.”
