Almost two months after the “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” teaser trailer was released, a new trailer has arrived online that gives us a much better sense of the scope and scale of Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg's upcoming adaptation.
This time around the trailer lasts almost two and a half minutes and gives a better idea of what the movie will look and be like: we see Tintin buying a model boat and discovering a letter in it that can lead him to one of the greatest treasures in all history. But with an amazing discovery like that, you can bet other people want to get their hands on it, and will use whatever means necessary.
Besides reintroducing us to classic characters like Tintin, his dog Snowy and Captain Haddock, the trailer shows us several different sides of the movie. There’s swashbuckling action, some images that might be scary to very young viewers, and even a few one-liners that'll have you cracking up.
“Tintin” has been featured as a television series before, of course, but becoming a full-scale feature film is definitely something different for the beloved Belgian character and his fans. Based on this trailer, it looks like we don't have a lot to worry about.
Directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson, “Tintin” hits theaters December 2011.
