Tom Hardy has plenty to say about his new mixed martial arts themed movie, "Warrior," as well as bodily injuries, the weather in Australia (where he's supposed to make a "Mad Max" movie someday), and all of the fun he's having at San Diego Comic-Con. But when MTV News pressed him about his role as the villainous Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," which sees him reuniting with his ultra-secretive "Inception" director Christopher Nolan, well...
"I can't [talk about it], so let's have another question. Have you got time for another question? Because you can't have this one," he fired back with rapid-fire speed and mock-seriousness.
"No, you can't!" he repeated as our reporter pressed onward. "No! No! No! No!"
The English actor will appear as the masked muscle-bound strongman who famously broke Batman's back in the comics, leading to a storyline where another character took over the mantle of the Bat while Bruce Wayne recovered. Nolan has kept a typically tight lid on plot details for "Dark Knight Rises," the followup to "The Dark Knight" and "Batman Begins," which once again features Christian Bale wearing the cowl. But the recent teaser trailer gave audiences a great (if quick) look at Hardy.
"I love people. People are lovely creatures. I'm one myself [so] I love to see people happy," he said of the fan reaction to the trailer, which played in theaters with the latest "Harry Potter" movie.
"The Dark Knight Rises looks like it's going to be an awesome, awesome movie," he said, finally surrendering to the topic. "I saw the trailer myself and I am very excited, too."
"I should be working [on 'The Dark Knight Rises'] right now, in fact," he admitted. "I came to Comic-Con just to have a little look."
