Spider-ManThis is a big week for “The Amazing Spider-Man.” First we had the debut of a two and a half minute trailer, and now we can get a look at the official teaser poster for the film.

A Comic-Con attendee saw the new poster, took a picture and posted it at First Showing. When so many posters these days try to fit in a ton of characters and give you a layered feel of what to expect in the movie, this poster earns the title “teaser” for its simplicity.

boneIf you’re at Comic-Con, you may want to try to see “Bone” graphic novelist Jeff Smith, who will be featured at four panels, more than one signing, and throwing a party to honor the anniversary of his comics. But there’s another reason for Smith to celebrate: Warner Brothers is working on a screenplay to put “Bone” on the big screen.

Speaking to Hero Complex, Smith said that there have been assorted tries to make “Bone” into a movie over the years. Before, Paramount and Nickelodeon were trying to get the characters in theaters. Now Warner Brothers is trying to make it happen, albeit the company has rejected two scripts for it so far. A third script is being written as we speak.

According to Smith, the plan is to make a 3-D, computer animated “Bone” trilogy.

Jon SnowComic creator tweets are fun to follow during Comic-Con International week, because they tend to keep appearing all night long. From pictures of run-ins between Stan Lee and Taylor Lautner to hang-outs with "A Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin, the feed was loaded with fun this morning.

It's also a great week to watch for art posts. Take, for example, a really awesome Jon Snow portrait posted by Michael Cho. Check out his link, some on-stage panel shots and some words from Simon Fraser on the passing of artist Lucian Freud.

Captain America"Captain America: The First Avenger" is the last of the big four Avengers to throw himself at the big-screen before next summer's major Marvel Studios event, and he doesn't disappoint. If you were worried about how the star-spangled superhero would translate from paneled page to live-action (especially after that '90s-movie-that-must-not-be-referenced-again), worry no more: the movie is great and absolutely worth the wait.

After the jump, check out five reasons why you need to catch "The First Avenger" this weekend!

The "Amazing Spider-Man" trailer has a lot going on in its two and a half minute run time. So much, in fact, that we here at Splash Page HQ couldn't just keep all of our thoughts to ourselves.

Yesterday, I took a closer look at the first trailer for Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" reboot, and recorded a commentary track with some of my thoughts. Watch the video to get my geeky and frequently high-pitched take on the Spidey trailer, and click past the jump for some additional thoughts!

The schedule is saying this is only the second day of San Diego Comic-Con, but we don't see how that's possible. After a manic run of interviews and panels and exclusives on Thursday -- everything from "Beavis & Butt-Head" to "Breaking Dawn" chats, "Game of Thrones" presentations, "The Walking Dead" sneak-peeks and beyond -- our time at SDCC has gifted us with enough pop culture geekery to call it quits and head home.

Except today is Friday -- day #2 -- and there's no chance we're skipping out early with a day like today ahead of us. So pardon us while we guzzle some coffee and then ponder the day ahead.

Now, "Man of Steel" has been pushed back six months longer than expected, slated to make its triumphant silver screen return on June 14, 2013.
