"The Dark Knight Rises" trailer took the web by storm yesterday, and it's no wonder why: between the introduction of Bane, the possible retirement of Batman and the likely destruction of Gotham City, all signs are pointing towards an epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

We already ran down the new "Dark Knight" trailer's highlights, but it's never too early to start thinking about what we want to see next. After the jump, check out the five things we're most looking forward to seeing from the next trailer!

300With “300” director Zack Snyder off working on his Superman reboot, “Man of Steel,” ancient-world-beefcake-enthusiasts were left to wonder who would pick up the reins on the prequel film, “300: Battle of Artemisia.” After two directors gunned for the gig (we’re hoping literally), only one remains standing: Noam Murro.

According to the fine folks over at The Hollywood Reporter, both Murro, the director of 2008’s “Smart People,” and Jaum Collet-Serra, who helmed the Liam Neeson action flick “Unknown,” were potentially up for the gig. But while Collet-Serra got saddled with what's already been a heavily criticized “Akira” adaptation, Murro will get to hang out with nearly-naked men in front of green screens for a couple of months. Before he gets there though, Murro is set to direct the upcoming “Die Hard 5.”

All the talk about "Captain America" these past few weeks really just gets us even more psyched for "The Avengers" next summer. We know they're filming, we've heard little tidbits from the cast about how great everything and everyone is on set, how smart and awesome Joss Whedon is, etc. These are all things we hope for and expect, right?

And even though the cast has signed their lives away with NDA's regarding their work in the film, we always hope for a few more tidbits to come out of our interactions with the actors. Captain America himself, Chris Evans, has let loose a few key ingredients, as it were, confirming that Whedon's superhero smorgasbord picks up directly after the end of his solo film, but my favorite fact gleaned is that all those "Avengers" are total BFF's now.

BaneThe "Dark Knight Rises" teaser trailer arrived online today, promising plenty of chaos and carnage to hit the streets of Gotham City in July 2012.

It's a short, minute-and-a-half look at director Christopher Nolan's final flight with the Batman, but despite the brevity, the teaser still has a lot of information worth chewing on. After the jump, take a look at what we know (and what we can guess) about the final "Dark Knight" movie based on the teaser.

DreddAfter playing Éomer in the “Lord of the Rings” movies and Dr. Bones McCoy in “Star Trek,” you’d think that Karl Urban would have built up enough geek credit to see the Kiwi actor through the rest of his career. But Urban is further shoring up his pop culture pedigree by starring in the 2012 film “Dredd.”

We’ve known since last year that Urban will be playing Judge Dredd in the 2012 adaptation of the legendary “2000 AD” property, but now, via the good folks at Bleeding Cool, comes an awesome look at Urban all suited up and ready to adjudicate.

Check it out after the jump!

When you have 30 minutes of Captain America's time all to yourself, it leaves the door open for a series of very important, hard-hitting questions. MTV's Josh Horowitz sat down with Chris Evans, the man behind the first Avenger, during the latest installation of "MTV First," and couldn't resist reeling him in for a game of "The Yes/No Show."

So does Evans dance in the shower? Has anyone ever called him "Captain America" in the sack? Did he drop plenty of "Bill and Ted" and "Point Break" references while filming "Street Kings" alongside Keanu Reeves? These questions and more are answered in the above interview, which will end up making your day about a million times better.

BatmanThe Truffle Shuffling U.S. women's soccer fan in the stands for the World Cup final yesterday must have caught Christos Gage's eye because he tweeted about his own Shuffle frustrations this morning. The international sports event provided a brief distraction from the Comic-Con craziness and Harry Potter sadness that was otherwise flooding our feed.

Speaking of Harry Potter, Chip Zdarsky celebrated the series' end. Alejandro Arbona didn't necessarily revel in schadenfreude, but he did question the film's depiction of bankers. Find out if you agree with him after the jump. There's a link to some awesome Jim Lee Batman artwork and sympathy for Jean Grey's evil clone there as well.
