A hijacked football stadium, a Batpod-riding cat burglar, a possible Batwing sighting and countless Tumblers and probable spoilers later, "The Dark Knight Rises" has finally left Pittsburgh.
Latino Review has a great collection of news on Christopher Nolan's final Batman film this morning, the biggest item being the production's completion of the Pittsburgh shoot.
The Nolan led team have placed an advertisement in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette with the words "Thank You PIttsburgh" in big capital letters set to the backdrop of the familiar "Dark Knight Rises" poster.
I was about to say that the Pittsburgh departure is a blessing and a curse for "Dark Knight Rises" watchers, but really, it's not… it's a good, good thing. Almost too much information was leaking out of the Steel City, so much so that we've seen Bane in his full-on costume, we've gotten our first (and very unofficial) look at what's pretty clearly Batman's new wings, one of the film's central villains has probably been unmasked… the list goes on.
It was fun to play Watch The Bat while it lasted, but given the gravity and volume of what was uncovered from the Pittsburgh shoot, it feels — at least to me — that we know too much about Nolan's final dance with the Caped Crusader. I'm sure we haven't seen the last "Dark Knight Rises" set photos and videos, not by a long shot, but it'll be nice to get a change of pace soon, even if there's no way to fully put the toothpaste back in the tube after everything we've seen.
"The Dark Knight Rises" is next scheduled to shoot in Los Angeles from September 3 through September 23, Before The Trailer reports. Perhaps security will be a little bit tighter in the City of Angels?
