Hurricane Irene is on its way to the East Coast right now, and everyone's got their own way of getting ready. Whether they're stockpiling booze, knives or water, the Twitter Report wishes everyone a safe weekend. Cooler heads have been posting as well, though, urging New Yorkers to remain calm.
Kevin Smith, meanwhile, appears to be relaxed to max now that he's done with part one of the script for his new film "Hit Somebody." His satisfaction, survival shopping lists and a killer Ultimate Captain America sketch from Reilly Brown topped our favorites list this morning. Catch 'em all after the jump.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 26, 2011.
Irene pt. 1: @DanSlott Tons of #SpiderIsland work to do. And I just *know* after I take off for #fanexpo, #hurricaneirene is gonna strand me in Toronto. Grrr! :-[
-Dan Slott, Writer ("Amazing Spider-Man," "Avengers: The Initiative")
Irene pt. 2: @Alejandrobot I've prepared myself for this hurricane weekend like a true Puerto Rican: case of beer.
-Alejandro Arbona, Editor ("Thor," "The Immortal Iron Fist")
Irene pt. 3: @BrianKeene Have guns, ammo, knife, duct tape, water, dry food, a hammer, rope, waterproof matches, and battery-operated radio/TV. Bring on Irene!
-Brian Keene, Writer ("Dead of Night," "Doom Patrol")
Irene pt. 4: @mollycrabapple Hurricane scotch? Check! Hurricane hookah tobacco? Check! Hurricane copy of Richard Olney's "Reflexions". Check check check.
-Molly Crabapple, Writer/Artist ("Strange Tales," "Puppet Makers")
Irene pt. 5: @dresdencodak New Yorkers: don't listen to the apocalyptic language of television regarding Irene. Worst case scenario is flooding, power outage.
-Aaron Diaz, Writer/Artist ("Dresden Codak")
Irene pt. 6: @ronmarz Glad hurricane isn't showing up next weekend, because it'd screw up one of my fantasy football drafts. And then there'd be REAL trouble.
-Ron Marz, Writer ("Green Lantern," "Witchblade")
@ThatKevinSmith The script for HIT SOMEBODY, Pt 1 is done. Now into second script. First part I'm calling HOME. Second part I'm calling AWAY. F---ing bliss.
-Kevin Smith, Writer ("Batman: The Widening Gyre," "Green Arrow")
