The Avengers aren't assembling on screen for a good little while yet, but Earth's Mightiest Heroes aren't shying away from the spotlight altogether.
We've already seen promotional art for the Marvel Studios blockbuster, and today brings two more pieces of art courtesy of SpiderMedia (via Superhero Hype): one (above) that showcases the superhero team's all-star roster, and another (after the jump) pegged squarely on their Asgardian nemesis Loki.
More and more, it's becoming clear that the idea of everyone versus The Hulk as the central premise of "The Avengers" is falling by the wayside — it's certainly possible, likely even, that our heroes are going to butt heads with the Jade Giant at certain moments throughout the movie, but the big green guy's continued presence alongside the likes of Iron Man, Cap and Thor strongly suggests to me that he'll be on the right side of the law.
Then again, there's always the mischievous Loki to consider, and who knows what sorts of tricks this master manipulator has up his sleeve. If there's anyone who can put a leash on the Hulk, it's the trickster god. It's a good thing the good guys have Thor on their side to keep the Asgardian threat at bay, then.
"The Avengers," directed by Joss Whedon and starring Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr., hits theaters in May 2012.
