The Wolverine"The Wolverine" might have finally nailed down a director and a solid cast, but it doesn't have a concrete start date.

It was expected that the latest installment in the "X-Men" series would start lensing in the fall to try to keep with the anticipated 2012 release date. That isn't the case, though. Deadline reports that "Wolverine" likely won't begin filming until spring 2012, and even that's not set in stone.

The villain in all of this? Japan's unpredictable weather. And, technically, leading man Hugh Jackman's commitment to "Les Miserables" as well.

Batman in BeerI actually went light on the Steve Jobs retweets today. By now everyone knows the news about him resigning as Apple's CEO. However, you may have missed a few of the zingers that got tossed around the feed this morning and last night.

In other subjects, the art was strong with the last day's worth of tweeting. Ben Templesmith claims a Batman sketch he posted was painted in beer, which in addition to the fact that it's a Ben Templesmith Batman sketch makes the piece mighty rad. Check out a link to the big picture and Robert Kirkman's love for the CGI Yoda replacement that's coming to the new "Star Wars: Episode I" Blu-ray discs. It's all in the highlight reel below.

Marisa MillerNow that the main characters of “R.I.P.D.” have been cast, it’s up to Universal to fill in secondary and other roles. In the past few days two big names have been added, one of whom is a world-famous super model and the other a well-respected television and movie actress.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Victoria’s Secret super model Marisa Miller has been cast, but it’s unknown yet what role she will play.

Best known of course for her modeling work, Miller has nonetheless done some television cameos, like on “How I Met Your Mother” and “Entourage.” However, this will be her first time acting in a movie.

Captain AmericaOne of the best parts of this summer’s “Captain America: The First Avenger” was the film’s 1940s setting. The wartime plot served to ground the superhero tale while also giving it an entirely different feel from any of the numerous superhero flicks crowding your local multiplex. According to the screenwriting team of Chris Markus and Stephen McFeely, a “Captain America” sequel might look to revisit the character’s past.

Officially, the decade in which Captain America finds himself at the end of the film is a spoiler, but given his role in next summer’s “Avengers,” it should be pretty easy to guess where the hero ends up. But even though his next appearance in a Marvel film sees Captain America in the present-day, Markus and McFeely told NBC Miami’s Popcorn Biz that they already have a way to make sure the film’s sequel features some classic, two-fisted war-time action.

Locke & KeyOne of the most highly sought after events at San Diego Comic-Con this year was the "Locke & Key" panel, and unlike the cryptic nature of the series itself, there's no mystery behind the panel's popularity: after Fox decided not to pick the comic book adaptation up to series, this was the only official chance fans would have to see the full "Locke & Key" pilot episode based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's horror masterpiece.

Though access to the pilot remains limited to the very lucky few who saw it at Comic-Con, a second best alternative has emerged. Josh Friedman, one of the writers tapped to shepherd the "Locke & Key" adaptation to television, recently tweeted out a link to a promotional trailer for the show that reveals — forgive the pun — key moments from the unaired episode.

FROM MTV MOVIES: The "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" trailer popped up online late last week, and what else is there to say about it other than Nicolas Cage closes out the new footage by pissing fire? Well, it turns out there's a heck of a lot left to say, which is why the MTV Movies team jumped into the comic book action for an expert commentary.

The trailer begins sweetly, with a score reminiscent of "Lost" and some epic title cards: "He fought the curse ... evil will force him ... to face his demon." But any wacky notion that directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who also helmed the "Crank" films, have delivered a kinder, gentler Johnny Blaze is quickly dismissed when the music picks up and the flames flicker to reveal our first look at the new Ghost Rider.

It's a look the directors have spoken with us about at length. "We wanted this black skull, with this gasoline fire and this black, inky smoke to get this real feeling of explosions and fire and heat," Neveldine said at San Diego Comic-Con. "That's something we really went for: 'Let's feel the heat in this movie.'"

The grittiness of this Ghost Rider most definitely shines through in the trailer. Charcoal skull? Check. A whiff of gasoline seemingly rising off the screen? Check. Neveldine and Taylor not holding back in this trailer and delivering a full-on look at our hero right off the bat? Check. And they don't stop there, quickly showing off Ghost Rider's signature move, the Penance Stare: He looks into your eyes and makes you feel all the pain and suffering you've ever inflicted on other people. This is no fairy-tale power. This is not X-ray vision. This is a hard-core demonic power, one which was not played very well in the first film. Even in this quick shot, the Stare looks very cool.

Hellraiser RevelationsEarthquakes are a serious matter, but Twitter quickly devolved into the world's largest comedy club on the subject yesterday after vibrations hit Washington, D.C., and New York. West Coasters in particular were quick to poke fun at everyone on the receiving end of the shakes.

"Conan the Barbarian" remains the big film being talked about in the feed right now. Despite its poor performance in the theaters, Kurt Busiek has still found a reason to appreciate the movie. His feelings on the matter, Jhonen Vasquez on what I'm assuming to be the new "Hellraiser: Revelations" trailer and more made the favorite tweets of the morning list down below.

We’re still over a month out from the debut of the second season of “The Walking Dead,” but excitement over the series’ return has been building since before this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. To further whet your appetite for blood, gore, and sweet, sweet delicious brains, AMC has released four new teaser clips for their hit show.

At a scant 11 seconds each, the clips themselves don’t show, tell or even imply much new information about the season, but they do feature pretty much the most important of the show’s assets: Realistic-looking zombies and stark, abject terror. Featuring returning castmembers like Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Laurie Holden and others, the teasers show off the bleak, zombie-infested world established in the series’ first six-episode season.

Everyone knows what Superman from the comics looks like, but lately we’ve been able to get a peek at how Henry Cavill will be portraying him in “Man of Steel.”

Right on the heels of Cavill's Superman reveal comes pictures of Antje Traue as Faora and Michael Shannon as the villain Zod -- and what we can’t see in his costume right now might be very telling as to what we will be able to see eventually.

Superhero Hype has posted three new set photos of Cavill in full costume . . . except that he’s missing his patented red underwear. Does that mean that the red tighties will not be appearing in this movie, as part of a way to make this Superman different from the others and to keep in line with DC’s relaunch?

Remember the part in “X-Men: First Class” where Magneto and Professor X find Angel at the strip club? Apparently what we saw in the theaters wasn’t the full scene, and the part of it that got cut will be available to see on the DVD. If you can’t wait that long to see what was left out, we’ve got you covered.

Posted over at Entertainment Weekly, we see Magneto and Professor X go to the strip club and get Angel off to themselves where they’re able to show her their mutant powers. Up till this point, Angel thinks they’re just regular, nonmutant customers.
