tdkrI wonder what directors think of YouTube. On one hand, all these little videos of “The Dark Knight Rises” are sure to grab fans’ attention and keep them interested in the film all the way until its July 2012 release date.

On the other hand, no matter how hard Christopher Nolan and his team try to keep their movie under wraps, the flow of photos and videos appears to be virtually endless.

Five new "Dark Knight Rises" set videos have been posted over at Comic Book Movie, all clocking in at under a minute long. The first one shows a couple of tumblers just sitting there, when suddenly they come to life as if filming has begun. A helicopter is also seen overhead, making one wonder if this could be a chase scene.

RunawaysIf you're wondering what happened to "Runaways," Marvel Studios' developing adaptation of the comic book created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, look no further than "The Avengers."

Drew Pearce, who's already turned in his adaptation of the Marvel Comics series, revealed at Empire Big Screen over the weekend that the superhero teen team has taken a seat on the bench while Marvel prioritizes "The Avengers," which hits theaters next May.

“Basically, ‘The Avengers’ came along and everything else at Marvel got put on hold for a year. But the script is there, we’re good [to] go,” Pearce said, according to The Playlist. “It’s kind of like [being] at the airport when you’re waiting for your slot to take off with Marvel, and we’re hoping we get a slot next year. Fingers crossed. They’re very happy with it, so hopefully it happens.”

It seems like every day there are new spoilers from "The Dark Knight Rises" set. Christopher Nolan’s last Batman flick has only been in Pittsburgh for two weeks and Warner Bros. has already had to release the first Catwoman photo before spies beat them to the punch. Thanks to other pictures, we already know what Bane’s full costume looks like and that a camouflaged version of the Batmobile is involved somehow.

But the leaks didn’t start with Pittsburgh. During the first round of shoots in Europe, key plot points and even news of a surprise cameo made it online to potentially spoil the fun for everyone hoping to see the movie next July without knowing all the secrets.

Thankfully, not everything has been spoiled yet. Some mysteries still linger, and we're investigating them after the jump.

Ultimate Spider-ManWhatever the cards looked like that you received for your birthday this year, they probably weren't as cool as Jim Lee's. He prefers the DIY variety and shared a picture of the creations he received this year.

Dan Slott, meanwhile, had the opportunity to discuss Spider-Man with his exterminator. What they talked about, an excerpt from the must-read #whengirlsrundc thread, and a note on the 4-year anniversary of artist Mike Wieringo's passing were the tweets that stuck out today.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 12, 2011. Read More...

The AvengersMarvel’s superhero team-up movie “The Avengers” is shaping up to be one of 2012’s most anticipated films, with an all-star line-up of characters and actors, and even geek-hero writer/director Joss Whedon at the helm. So, it should come as no surprise that we habitually scour the Internet for news about the film’s ongoing production and today, we have two tidbits, both via the fine folks at Superhero Hype.

First up, news that “Avengers” filming has moved on to Parma, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. While there’s no word on which, if any, of the movie’s cast members will be involved, Cleveland.com has revealed that what will be present are a “series of exploding fireballs at the former Chevrolet Powertrain building.”

“The explosions, with fireballs that will reach 30 feet into the air, are part of the filming sequence of battles that will begin in Cleveland on Monday,” Michael Sangiacomo reports.

PowersThe pilot for “Powers” started filming in Chicago almost a month ago, but shockingly, we’ve heard relatively little about the FX production. But now, about a week after filming has wrapped, we’ve received our first look at “The Losers” star Jason Patric as the series’ leading man.

Patric plays superpowered police detective Christian Walker, one of the two leads in Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s ongoing comic series, “Powers.” Though Patric lacks imposing upper body Oeming imbued the character with in the comics, the actor has the costume and furrowed brow of Christian Walker pretty much down pat.

nicoleNicole Scherzinger may be best known to the MTV audience as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, but the future "X-Factor" host is dipping her toes into the world of acting with a role in “Men in Black 3.”

Speaking to Crave Online, Scherzinger said working on “MIB” was “amazing.” “I have a cameo and I open the movie,” she said. “So it was an honor to work with Barry Sonnenfeld, the director, and Jemaine Clement who’s my costar. I actually went to college for theater so it’s nice to be able to utilize some of those chops finally. I really want to get back into a film and acting.”

If it feels like you've been seeing a lot of the Batman and his Tumbler lately, that's because, well, you have. Between that and Catwoman's stolen Batpod, the most recent "Dark Knight Rises" set photos have been heavy on the vehicles and — depending on your point of view – heavy on the spoilers.

Today's latest image from Gotham City is no exception, as a spy photo originating from a Twitter user (via Slash Film) reveals what could very well be a new vehicular entry into Christopher Nolan's Batman universe… but not an entirely new vehicle in the Caped Crusader's lengthy history.

Don't get distracted by that hairy-chested Hulk filming "The Avengers" in New Mexico, because Guillermo del Toro wants you to know that there's another Hulk on the way.

The last time MTV News heard anything about del Toro's planned "Hulk" TV series was back in June when he said that he and "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer David Eick had turned in an outline for the show a month before. When MTV caught up with the "Pacific Rim" director recently, he confirmed that his plans for the show are still underway.

"David Eick and I are hard at work," he assured us. "We've gone through a lot of iterations with the ABC project and we're very happy where we are right now. We're just waiting for the green light to go to pages."

File this one under news I did not expect to read: "The Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield is heading to Broadway next year in an all-star production of the acclaimed Arthur Miller play "Death of a Salesman."

According to Deadline, Oscar winner Mike Nichols will direct an impressive cast of thespians in a revival of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Philip Seymour Hoffman will play the beleaguered traveling salesman Willy Loman, Linda Edmond will play his wife, Linda, and Garfield will make his Broadway debut in the role of Loman's underachieving, conflicted son Bif. The production is expected to open in New York City next March at the Barrymore Theatre.

While we ruminate on this news, here's our recent Spidey-riffic chat with Garfield about the upcoming film:

It's not so much surprising that Garfield is taking his talents to the Great White Way, only that he is choosing to do so now, as his movie career continues to heat up. Not only that, but the production will run in the normally promotional-heavy spring months leading up to the release of his expected blockbuster, "The Amazing Spider-Man." And then of course there are plenty of puns and jokes to be made of the fact that two Spideys will be on Broadway — Garfield and Reeve Carney in the problem-plagued production "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."

What do you think of Garfield's new role? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!
