If anyone can sympathize with George Lucas amid all of the criticism he's recently received over the new Star Wars Blu-ray changes, it's comic book creators. Ron Marz and Eric Canete both came to the franchise founder's defense with some stern words today.
On a much more serious note, creators have been banding together to raise money to help cartoonist Dylan Williams, who's currently battling cancer. If you want to help out, you could do a lot worse than picking up the Batwoman artwork that Steve Lieber put up on eBay. Check out a link to that, pressing questions and a proposed casting choice for a "Stronium Dog" movie.

“Thor” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray September 13, and it brings with it some fun extras, including ones that don’t entirely have to do with “Thor” itself. Two extras are already available online to check out: a sneak peek of “The Avengers” and a short film called “The Consultant” about Agent Coulson.
Posted over at Movies.com, the "Avengers" sneak peek offers several cool things. You get to see short clips from the movie and glimpses into each of the characters.
After that, we get some interviews with important people in the film, including director Joss Whedon.

Two harmless hillbillies versus a pack of idiot college kids? Not as easy a fight as you might think. Thankfully, when Tucker and Dale team up to fight the forces of evil, they'll have some help in the form of comic book artist Tony Moore.
Moore ("The Walking Dead" and "Fear Agent") has put his talents to good use in this EXCLUSIVE first look at his blood-soaked poster for "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil," the horror comedy carving its way into theaters at the end of the month and currently playing on Magnolia On-Demand.

The last time we checked in on "Thor 2," it seemed as though Marvel had found its Kenneth Branagh successor in "Game Of Thrones" director Brian Kirk. As intriguing as that prospect is, it might not be the case. Yet.
When MTV News caught up with "Thor" and "Avengers" star Tom Hiddleston yesterday to talk about the "Thor" Blu-ray release (out September 13), I asked if he'd had any interaction with Kirk, and he revealed that the "Thor 2" director's chair has not officially been filled.
"I haven’t. I also don’t know that that’s actually confirmed," he said. "That’s not me being coy. I spoke to Kevin Feige last week on ["The Avengers"] set and he said, 'Oh no, we haven’t got anyone yet. We’re thinking about people,'" Hiddleston recalled. "I think [Kirk's] name is definitely in the hat, but I don’t think anything is solid."

FROM MTV MOVIES: "Man of Steel" is taking a decidedly different turn from previous Superman films. Lois Lane is a redhead. Laurence Fishburne is playing the first non-white Perry White. And those red underpants are long gone.
Based on the latest set photos that have hit the Web, Superman's suit has gotten a serious update as well. The first image of Henry Cavill as Superman was released earlier this summer, but his position in the shot made it hard to get a complete look at the suit. These new stills offer the first up-close, full-body looks at the outfit in Zack Snyder's Superman movie, and the response to the new look has been positive so far.
SuperHeroHype compiled the photos, which show Cavill walking around on the set in between takes. The suit has a lot more texture than Superman's outfits in previous films, and also has added new accents, including silvery lines that wrap around the torso, and go up the back and down the legs.
