Fans of "The Walking Dead," returning this Sunday night (October 16), may be waiting with bated breath to see how the second season of the zombie survival series unfolds after a summer of behind the scenes drama. When AMC and executive producer Frank Darabont abruptly parted ways this past July, it was uncertain whether the hit show would remain the same without the driving force behind it.

Rest assured zombie fanatics. Robert Kirkman, writer of "The Walking Dead" comic series and executive producer on the show, stopped by MTV News and assured viewers that when the second season premieres this Sunday (October 16), it will be the same "Dead" we love and that the issues stayed behind the camera.

Aaron Eckhart is someone who I am always happy to see working. No matter what material he's working with, he always seems like he gives 100 percent to his work and is a complete professional. Therefore when Lionsgate announced that Eckhart would be their star in Stuart Beattie's "I, Frankenstein," adapted from Kevin Grevioux's graphic novel, I was pleased as punch.

When MTV News caught up with Eckhart recently during the press day for his latest film, "The Rum Diary," I asked him to give us a tease about what we can expect from him and the film.

Henry Cavill is putting the man back in Superman. Not only is he sporting a wily muff of facial hair, but he’s rockin’ a gnarly chest beard. These new pictures just released today, courtesy of Crave Online, show the Man of Steel in all of his shirtless glory. Maybe they should change his name to Man of Marble, because he looks like he is cut out of it, amiright?

[Editor's note: That's the last time you'll see "amiright" on Splash Page. Maybe.]

The Dark Knight RisesWhen it comes to "The Dark Knight Rises," it's never too late to add another curveball. So here comes another one today, as a brand new actor has been recruited into the Gotham City fold — and you better believe that he's a real find.

Rob Brown, best known for his work in "Finding Forrester" and "Coach Carter," has been cast in "The Dark Knight Rises," according to Variety. Sadly — though not unsurprisingly — we're completely without details on Brown's character, so the speculation game must begin without a single clue to start with.

It's a great week to be a geek. We started things off with the first official "Avengers" trailer, and we're closing out with the second season premiere of "The Walking Dead" this Sunday evening (October 16). On top of that, New York Comic Con is going on for those of us fortunate enough to be hanging in the Big Apple. Really, does it get any better?

Why, yes it does, thank you for asking!

"Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman is in town for NYCC this weekend, and he swung by MTV News headquarters earlier to chat about the season premiere and his new "Dead" novel, "Rise of the Governor." But while we had him in our clutches, we couldn't let Robert, a lifelong comic book reader and one of the top writers in the field, get away without talking about the new "Avengers" trailer. What ensued was a full-blown "Avengers" trailer commentary filled to the brim with Kirkman's unique and hilarious insight into the upcoming Marvel Studios blockbuster.

Arkham City

You would be forgiven for not knowing that a limited edition "Batman: Arkham City" Sinestro Corps skin is included in specially marked "Green Lantern" Blu-Rays. Thanks to the seemingly never-ending deluge of information that's been flowing from Warner Bros. – including pre-order bonuses, the massive rogues gallery, and retailer-specific content – it's easy to overlook a rather odd Batman costume as yet another "Arkham" update.

The Dark Knight RisesIt's a bird, it's a plane, it's... well, it's not Superman, that's for sure. It's the Batwing, at long last swooping through the streets of Gotham on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises."

The Batwing has become a familiar sight to those keeping up with "The Dark Knight Rises" set photos and video leaks. It was first spotted in late September battling against the HEMTT, a truck rumored to be in Bane's possession. Then there was a video posted earlier this month that showed the vehicle being carted around set. But finally, finally there's a video of what we've all been waiting to see: the Batwing taking flight.

After the jump, we dish on what this could mean for Batman's relationship with the Gotham City Police in "The Dark Knight Rises."
