The last we heard, Colin Firth had been approached to play Adrian, the villain in Spike Lee's upcoming "Oldboy" adaptation.
When MTV News sat down with the Academy Award-winning actor for his new film, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," Firth remained more or less mum about potentially taking part in the revenge thriller.
"I've heard the rumors, as you have," Firth said. "I'm thinking about it, yeah."
If he were to take the role, he would have a sinister part ahead of him. Adrian is the man responsible for locking up Josh Brolin's character for years without any explanation. When Brolin's character begins to his journey to find Adrian and exact his revenge, secrets about their shared past are revealed.
Reports about how Lee plans on approaching the remake have indicated that he'll take both Chan-wook Park's film and the manga which that version was based on. Firth confirmed as much when he spoke with Horowitz, saying "it does" respect both source materials.
Firth had at one point been attached to star in Chan-wook Park's English-language debut, "Stoker," but the part ultimately fell through.
