Kristen Stewart's been plagued by vampires, gone toe-to-toe against evil queens alongside the seven dwarves, and now it's possible that she'll be invading Neo-Tokyo… err, Neo-Manhattan, that is.
Twitch reports that the "Twilight" actress has been offered the role of Kei in "Akira," Warner Bros. and director Jaume Collet-Sera's adaptation of the classic anime and manga series. If she signs on, she'll join a cast that includes Garrett Hedlund as biker boss Kaneda. "Harry Potter" stars Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter have also been made offers, but so far neither party has signed on for the feature.

When I was growing up, "Batman The Animated Series" was pretty much the greatest show that ever existed. The years may have wound on (and on, unfortunately), but there's still a soft spot in my heart for that Warner Bros. cartoon. DC isn't sitting on their laurels though, and Cartoon Network will soon play host to a special chunk of programming that focuses solely upon DC heroes and related brand content.
If you didn't get a chance to check out the premiere of the new "Green Lantern" animated series last Friday, you should try to give it a shot. So far – yes, there's only one episode out at this point – the show's looking like a lot of fun, and with any luck, maybe we'll find ourselves treated to Green Lantern programming better than this year's film adaptation (it has to be).

If ever you wondered why massively multiplayer online games are all going free-to-play, look no further than "DC Universe Online." The previously subscription-only game just recently opened up to all us freeloaders, and by Green Arrow's beard, has this game suddenly taken off with a fury. Just one week into the new tiered structure and over one million new players hopped aboard.
Sony Online Entertainment are obviously more than a little enthused with the sudden onslaught of new players. It's not immediately clear how those million people are split between the game's three options of pay, but it's a staggering number that apparently covers both platform options.

Every day, news of in-development film projects running aground pop up on the web, but it's far less common for those projects to yield a look at what might have been.
Such is the case with the now-stalled "The Crow" reboot, which was supposed to star Bradley Cooper. After Cooper left the project this past summer, would-be director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo also parted with the film, leaving the project stuck in the mud.
Yesterday, a handful of concept art images surfaced on the web giving fans a look at what a Bradley Cooper "Crow" would have looked like, courtesy of Shock Till You Drop.

Because so many people liked Kenneth Branagh’s work as the director of “Thor,” just as many were surprised to learn he would not be returning as director for the sequel. Chris Hemsworth himself made it clear he was disappointed. And Branagh said he would love to work on another “Thor” movie, so what gives?
The Internet is filled with all sorts of rumors surrounding the director's departure, but Branagh, talking to MovieFone, can hopefully lay the speculation to rest.

And… that's a wrap?
"The Dark Knight Rises" has been in production for the better part of a year, as evidenced by an endless outpouring of photos and videos from the various different sets Christopher Nolan has used during his third and final voyage to Gotham City. But now, based on a lone Tumblr post from actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, it looks like the Batman's war on crime has finally left the streets.

The next time you’re on the message boards waxing speculative about the latest “Man of Steel” still, consider that Superman himself might be watching.
Eager to do justice to America’s most iconic 4-color creation, Henry Cavill has been taking in fan opinions and probing Superman subject material. The British actor drew parallels between the “Man of Steel” script—penned by seasoned superhero screenwriter David S. Goyer for direction by Zack Snyder—to “The New 52,” DC’s universe wide reboot.

Working at a videogame development studio probably isn't as much fun as you think. Contrary to popular belief, the job doesn't always involve playing games all day long and the development process can be arduous. Certainly, working on a follow-up to the smash hit "Batman: Arkham Asylum" brings an extreme level of pressure. It's not all bad though; after production wraps, sometimes studio employees get to kick their feet back at the Wayne mansion.
UK-based Rocksteady Studios wrapped up work on the amazing "Batman: Arkham City" last month, and according to animator Simon Warwick (via Siliconera), the whole team was taken out for a night on the town, Dark Knight style.

The man who brought you the final adventures of the Boy Who Lived is about to pay a visit to the Doctor.
Director David Yates, who stepped behind the camera for the final four installments of the "Harry Potter" series including the two-part "Deathly Hallows" finale, is teaming with BBC to adapt another major franchise for the big-screen in the form of "Doctor Who," reports Variety.
The details are still murky at the moment, but here's what we do know…

Frank Miller, the creator of "300" and "Sin City," is not pleased with the Occupy Wall Street movement. The "Sin City" co-director, already no stranger to controversy, unleashed a strongly-worded attack against the Occupy protestors over the weekend, describing them as "nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists."
"These clowns can do nothing but harm America," Miller wrote in a heated blog post. "This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows they’re spewing their garbage – both politically and physically – every which way they can find."
