One might think that with all the incessant, obsessive coverage "The Dark Knight Rises" has received this year (since its inception, really, pun not intended) further stories and comments about the film might get old. Not so for the MTV News gang; we're still psyched to see this film, no matter how many months we still have to wait.

Of all the hot topics to come out of the "DKR" gate in 2011, Anne Hathaway's Catwoman costume reveal is at the top of the list. As such, whenever we encounter someone connected to the Batman franchise, we have to ask them about it.

Case in point, our recent interview with Michelle Pfeiffer during the press day for her upcoming film, "New Year's Eve." When we sat down with Pfeiffer, who famously played Selina Kyle in Tim Burton's "Batman Returns," we had to ask for her thoughts on Hathaway in the role and whether or not she'd seen any photos of the revamped costume.

Batman's always been known to appear and disappear at a moment's notice, a habit that tends to annoy Commissioner Gordon, but not every occasion is an appropriate one for the Caped Crusader.

In a new Digital Short from Saturday Night Live, host Steve Buscemi donned the commissioner's iconic mustache to show off the creepier side of the Dark Knight. Andy Samberg riffed on Christian Bale's raspy-voiced Batman for the parody.

Michael ShannonBefore being cast as General Zod in "Man of Steel," Michael Shannon wasn't typically known for blockbuster action roles. But a lot has changed in the moviemaking industry since the first "Superman" movie was made in 1978, making it easier for the acting savant to transition to a stunt-heavy schedule.

"Unfortunately for [Shannon's role-predecessor Terence] Stamp, they didn't have CGI back then," Shannon remarked in an interview with The Province. "I'm being spared a lot of the drudgery that he had to endure. From time to time I'm in a harness, but I don't think anywhere near as much as he was."

Spider-Man

by Joel Hanek

First a debut trailer that felt more moody and brooding than a "Twilight" movie, and now with the diabetes-inducing leak of the first imagery of The Lizard, my hopes of having a great “The Amazing Spider-Man” movie are slowly being crushed.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Spidey and I still have faith in the Webhead franchise and character – and I’m sure with this charismatic cast and director that we’ll get a charming movie – but the first official pic of Doc Connors’ repitilian transmogrification that slithered onto the web this week was a tad underwhelming.

This week on “Talk Nerdy to Me,” the resident Nerds give us five things that look cooler than The Lizard. Check the list out below!

Watchmen

"Sin City" and "300" creator Frank Miller caused quite the stir last month with his controversial remarks towards the Occupy movement, describing protestors as "nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists" who "can do nothing but harm America."

Alan Moore, on the other hand, has quite the different outlook. It should be no surprise to people familiar with the "Watchmen" and "V For Vendetta" author's work that Moore's position on Occupy is drastically different from Miller's, and in an interview with Honest Publishing, Moore made those differences quite clear.

If you’re a time-tested “Doctor Who” fan, the past month may have found you in an emotional tumult of sorts. In mid November it was revealed that David Yates—director of the “Harry Potter” franchise since “Order of the Phoenix”—would be the main man behind bringing “Doctor Who” to the big screen within the next 3 years. With no actors or plot details attached to the project, fans wanted to know if a “Doctor Who” film would fit in the universe that had spent decades—along with a good few years worth of reprisal—adding to its vast continuity.

When we shared footage of our chat with Yates on the red carpet of the BAFTA Los Angeles 2011 Britannia Awards, the director was non-committal to any real news on the subject, saying only that a search is underway for a writer and a great script. But it was the director’s mid-November comments to Variety that fueled rumors that his silver screen “Doctor Who” would be a drastic re-imagining of the series.

Cue “Doctor Who” head Steven Moffat, who took to his Twitter this morning to quell fan speculation and outrage by quashing the rumor.

Marvel

Zen Studios knows how to make a pinball videogame. It's no easy task – creating digital games that somehow maintain the feel of analog tables, but Zen has proven more than capable over the past few years with a stable of enjoyable games. Personally, Xbox Live game "Pinball FX 2" has eaten away hours of my life, thanks in no small part to the incredibly satisfying leaderboard system and the inclusion of some amazingly executed Marvel-themed tables.

Now, a selection of those Marvel tables are coming to iOS and Android devices via downloadable content.

Abed

Christian Bale's days as Batman are behind him, and apparently, he has his pick for the next man to assume the Dark Knight's cape and cowl: Greendale Community College's very own Abed Nadir.

On last night's episode of "Community," titled "Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism," the hilarious Danny Pudi once again delivered his spot-on impression of Bale's Batman, and the world is better off for it. In the episode, Abed receives his long awaited $299 collector's edition of "The Dark Knight," complete with exclusive commentary from the cast and crew and even a ringing endorsement on the box from Bale himself: "Abed is Batman now."
