Though the main cast for "Arrow" has been set for about a month now, there's still plenty of room left for guest appearances. The latest one comes in the form of "Bold and the Beautiful" actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who will be playing Sarah Lance, the sister of Katie Cassidy's Dinah Laurel Lance.
Green Arrow TV broke the news, which Wood confirmed over Twitter. She also said, "For everyone who has been asking if I am leaving ['Bold and the Beautiful'], don't worry I am not. :)" which seems to support the belief that she will only play a brief role in "Arrow's" pilot episode.
Sarah Lance's role in the pilot is to help show off the Green Arrow's origin. ComicBookMovie.com has learned that Sarah Lance's role "is mostly involved in sequences taking place before the incident that left Oliver Queen on an island for several years." From what we know about Sarah's character, she died aboard Oliver's yacht, an event which caused her sister to launch into "a one-woman war against the 1%."
So far, all the major players for the CW's newest superhero show are in place. Stephen Amell has been cast as the Green Arrow himself, Oliver Queen. As previously mentioned, Cassidy will play Dinah Laurel Lance. "Blue Bloods" star David Ramsey will play Oliver's bodyguard, John Diggle. And lastly, Colin Donnell will play Oliver's rival, Merlyn.
Wood will be joining a growing collection of supporting characters, though she likely won't return as frequently as the rest of them will. Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson and Jamey Sheridan have joined the cast as Oliver's sister, mother and allegedly dead father, respectively. Paul Blackthorne will play Quentin Lance, the father of Sarah and Dinah. Rounding out the bunch is Colin Salmon, who is lined up to play Oliver's father's former business associate, Walter Steele.
