Remember that extra scene Robert Downey Jr. talked about filming after the premiere of "The Avengers"? Well, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says you shouldn't worry too much about that. What you should be keeping an eye out for are Ant-Man, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.
At the European premiere of Marvel's soon-to-be blockbuster in London, Feige spoke with British journalists on a number of pressing issues in the Marvel Universe.
First on the docket was the supposed extra scene that Downey teased during a recent press conference. Feige told Blogomatic300 that's nothing to get your robotic super suit in a bunch over. "I will tell you this: It was not a scene. It was not a scene," Feige said. "There's little things. It's been blown out of proportion. Which is fun, I like that things are blown out of proportion. Sometimes they're true sometimes they're not."
That sounds a little suspicious to us. If it the "not a scene" was nearly a unimportant as Feige is making it out to be, why did it require the whole cast's involvement? Hmmm.
Mr. President also touched on the topics of the missing Avengers, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, with Hey U Guys. As with several other properties in the universe there's the question of where the rights for the characters lie, since both have origins with the X-Men, a Fox property. Since the characters belong to both series, Feige described them as falling in a "gray area," meaning they could potentially appear in an Avengers film.
As for the long awaited "Ant-Man" from Edgar Wright, Feige repeated his previous statements on the film saying that it is closer than ever. "Edgar is getting excited to get behind the camera again and start some advanced prep work for Ant-Man," he said. "We are going to take some forward steps in a few months that will bring it closer than ever. In terms of release date, I don’t know."
